This charming home in the quaint village of Fortan sleeps 5 adults, 1 child, and 2 infants. Filled with charm and character, it is the perfect home base for families with young children to explore the Loire Valley. The region is filled with picturesque villages, impeccably manicured gardens, and fairytale castles that will spark children’s imaginations, with all of the cultural attractions of Paris just a short drive away. Young children will feel right at home here as plenty of kit is provided for them, including a fantastic backyard playground with swings, slide, jungle gym, and space to run and play. Parents can feel free to leave the baby gear at home; a high chair, playpen, changing table, and 2 cribs are available upon request. We love the exposed timber ceiling beams, the multiple fireplaces for staying toasty warm on chilly nights, and the arched brick wine storage area. Enjoy a family meal on the outdoor patio, where the children have their own miniature picnic table.

We arrived with our family on a very hot Saturday afternoon. Our charming and very friendly host waited on us, gave us a tour in the cool home and did everything to us at our ease. We stayed there with two teenagers of 12 and 14 years, and a toddler of 3. The House is a dream come true for a family holiday, the elders found the PlayStation and the many books very fascinating, our youngest Member amused themselves in the large play area and with the inviting game material. All you stay comfortable is in the House and that is a wonderful feeling! The peace, space, the garden, the kindness of Matthieu: we are definitely back and would highly recommend it!! What a discovery!! Our biggest thanks for that .....

A recommander!

Loir-et-Cher, France

Châteaux, cheese and nature’s plenty

In the heart of the Loire Valley two hours southwest of Paris, the Loir-et-Cher region is noted for its historic towns, architecture and wines. Take the kids to the one of the many castles - with the châteaux at Chambord, Blois and Chaumont being among the best - or to the ZooParc de Beauval in Saint-Aignan. An early morning balloon ride over the beautiful vineyards and orchards is unforgettable.
