Perks for the Parents

This dazzling villa with a pool in the fashionable and picturesque Ourika Valley, at the foothills of The Atlas Mountains, is a 20-minute drive from Marrakesh and includes wild tortoises in the flower beds, 3 live-in staff and a fantastic cook. Very well set up for families, it has 2 twin bedrooms on the ground floor sharing a 'jack and jill' bathroom, and sleeps up to 10 plus 2 babies. There is a beautiful, large garden with a big lawn, a variety of fruit trees and a swimming pool in a gated area. The staff include a housekeeper, maid and a truly wonderful cook who also cooks familiar children's favourites. Guests tend to spend a lot of time at the villa relaxing as it is like spending time in a 5* boutique hotel that you have all to yourself; that said, there are so many amazing restaurants and places to visit for a day trip just a short drive away.

Why Kids Love it

Kids love this magical and exotic space: from finding tortoises in the garden to splashing in the pool, running around the 2.5 acre garden and picking fruit from the tree, there is plenty to explore outside. Inside, rooms are filled with beautiful decorative items, inlaid cabinets, cozy nooks, 4-poster beds and beautiful bathrooms, making a stay with kids a joy. A crib and high chair is available upon request, as is babysitting. The daily housekeeping service make a stay with kids a breeze; note that breakfast is also included in the rate. Older children will love the trips you can take from this property, including sand buggy tours and treks in The Atlas Mountains, plus water sports on the lake. For all ages, trips to the souks to see the snakes and monkeys are enchanting and memorable.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 days; maximum stay: 2 weeks. In high season (Christmas, New Year and Easter), the minimum stay is 5 days. Note that the pool is gated and set away from the house; the stairs are not gated and there is a roof terrace, where young children may need supervision. There are a lot of beautiful breakable items that should be moved out of the reach of very young children. Safety, peace and quiet is guaranteed. Concierge services are offered on the estate, along with a gym, tennis court and Hammam available to guests of the villa on site, shared between the 8 private villas in the estate. Note: this is not a self catering villa, but has an excellent cook and there is a fabulous menu for guests to choose from, which includes local dishes and more traditional French cuisine.

About the Location

The villa is in the fashionable and picturesque Ourika Valley, at the foothills of The Atlas Mountains. Views from the roof terrace reach to the mountains. It is in a small estate with 8 other private villas, with some shared leisure facilities. Marrakesh airport is 25 minutes away and the colourful, vibrant city centre of Marrakech is just 20 minutes away by car. There is plenty of parking as the villa is in its own private plot within a 24-hour security gated area. The hosts recommend taxi hire for getting around and can arrange a private taxi driver for your stay. As a guide, day trips to the mountains by taxi cost approximately £90 return.

Modern Morocco. This chic and contemporary villa is furnished throughout in cool neutrals and includes a perfect blend of Moroccan design and style with European levels of comfort. This beautiful house has flagstone floors, 4-poster bedrooms, fabulous tadelakt bathrooms, and a feast of carefully chosen objets d’art. Marrakesh, Morocco

Snake charmers and desert gardens

Visiting Marrakesh is like stepping into a heady Arabian dream - from snake charmers in Djemma el Fna square to the labyrinthine souks where you can’t fail to get lost among stalls of magic lanterns. Soak up the atmosphere with pretty pastries and mint tea in a pavement café and be sure to visit the Majorelle Gardens on the outskirts of the city where the exotic garden displays the brightest colors around. Outside the city, day trip to the Atlas Mountains or take the kids camel riding in the Sahara - it’s a magical experience for all the family.
