Style Notes

Rural farmhouse. This tastefully-renovated farmhouse features neutral white floors, rustic wooden textures, sliding doors providing lots of natural light, and a beautiful covered deck with views of the vintage red timber barn and rolling countryside. We love the natural sheepskin throws, the exposed brick wall in the kitchen and the stylish light fixtures adding a contemporary touch.

We are a family that loves to travel and spend time together. Our children are 8, 6 and 3 years old. They are adventurous, flexible, love digging in dirt, splashing in mud puddles, and stargazing. We live in Chicago and have a farmhouse in Southwest Michigan. We love the open land and time spent exploring with our family.

We had a great long weekend stay at the Farmhouse. Heidi was really helpful with some excellent suggestions for food and activities in the area. The house was super clean and our kids said it was very cozy. They enjoyed the toys that were there and some walks around the property. We would definitely stay again!

While our kids had fun playing with the toys (although, there's whiskey and glasses on a low shelf in the kids toy area 😬), my husband and I were left disappointed. When we first got there it was cold and damp inside (even the couch was damp) from windows being opened and the glass door being opened and unlocked. We were looking forward to relaxing on the screened in porch but weren't able to access it (door doesn't work) and it was raining so walking around the house to get to it wasn't appealing. We were told this on our travel day as well as the sliding glass door being broken which my husband had to fix otherwise we would have to leave it unlocked which we weren't comfortable doing. The property was pretty but overgrown and most of the photos are no longer accurate. We ended up leaving a night early because we were so uncomfortable in the home. We were really looking forward to our fall getaway but left disappointed and heartbroken that we wasted our money when we only live an hour away and could have drove to the places we visited but the trip was supposed to be a cozy fall trip relaxing at the home. Definitely not a toddler friendly home but it is pretty
Response from Heidi S.
I am very sorry you and your family were frustrated during your stay. I did not receive a text or email from you so could not address your concerns when you were at the property. Sorry you caught the property when it was too wet to mow the grass for a while and when the doors broke the weekend before you came. We are mindful of the items you have mentioned in the review and have addressed your concerns for the next folks coming to the property. Thank you for the feedback. Best, Heidi

What a wonderful secluded stay in Michigan! Heidi was quick to respond and so helpful throughout the entire booking process. We had the chance to meet her and her family and they are lovely! The assortment of children's toys and books throughout the house was very much appreciated by all the children in our party. Already planning our trip back for the apple picking season.

We had a great stay at the Pardee Road Residence. Heidi was very communicative and gave us lots of excellent suggestions for things to do in the area. The home is very clean and comfortable, with lots of toys and books to keep our little one entertained. The kitchen had all of the tools/equipment we could have needed. We loved the screened-in porch. We felt right at home!

We had a lovely stay at the Pardee Road Residence. The property is absolutely beautiful with hiking and a peaceful environment. We appreciated the lack of wifi and tv for the weekend, and the nearby town of Three Oaks is charming. Our young girls loved the large collection of toys and books as well. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
