A beautifully-updated yet cozy home in Napa, California, perfect for a family with young kids. It sleeps 3 + 1. Enjoy indoor-outdoor California living at its finest here - there’s plenty of space to relax and lots of outdoor areas to enjoy the sunshine. Some of the best wineries in Napa and Sonoma are only 10-15 minute drive and it’s within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in the world, as well as downtown Napa tasting rooms, shops and family-friendly activities. It’s also just a 10-minute stroll from the local farmer's market if you're looking to cook in the upgraded kitchen. When you’re ready to work off all that delicious food and wine, there’s a Peloton bike in the bedroom.

Why Kids Love it

This home is great for families with young children (ideally suited to 2 children under 6 or families with 1 child). They’ll love hanging out in the playroom, which is stocked with classic toys, puzzles, and games and there are black-out curtains in the bedrooms for any-time naps. Kids of all ages will enjoy the park-like backyard, which has a climbing tower, slide and ride-ons. It’s a 2-minute walk from the local neighborhood playground and close to many fun activities such as the farmer's market (10 minutes’ walk), Train Town (20 minutes’ drive) and kid-friendly wineries. A crib/toddler bed, high chair and stair gates are all available, and the house is child-proofed wherever possible.

Things to Know

Minimum stay for exchange: 2 weeks. Minimum stay for rentals: 30 nights. **Please note: the hosts have a kid-friendly outdoor cat who will be in the backyard during stays, they ask that he is fed once a day.** There is a driveway for car parking, as well as easy access to street parking, but the location is very walkable if you choose not to rent a car. It’s easily accessible to all the local wineries in Napa/Sonoma whether you choose to drive, bike or Uber and there are also lots of wine tour operators nearby. It’s 1 hour from both San Francisco and Santa Rosa airports.

About the Location

The residence is located in downtown Napa, in California’s wine country. It’s 10 minutes’ walk to Main St and the river, where you’ll find a food market, outdoor music venues, summer fairs, tourist information center and plenty of shops and eateries. You can also hire bikes from downtown Napa (it’s a short distance from the VINE bike trail) or rent water sports equipment to use on the river.

Accommodation Details

This house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set over 1 floor. The formal living room includes a gas fireplace and is a great place to cozy up and watch a movie after the kids go to sleep. The playroom has access to the background for indoor-outdoor play. The kitchen is fully updated and includes a professional grade range, stainless refrigerator, espresso and coffee maker, and tons of storage. The first bedroom is great for kids and includes 1 twin bed, 1 crib and access to an updated bathroom (with tub) right off the hall. The crib can easily be made into a toddler bed by taking the side off. The primary suite is large and private, with a queensize bed, French doors that open to the back patio, 2 large closets and an ensuite bathroom with double vanity, rain shower and heated floors.

Style Notes

California bungalow. The house was built in 1936 and remodeled down to the studs in 2019. There’s a breezy floor plan with great natural light creating a bright, cozy and casual environment with pops of color. The hosts have added tons of contemporary upgrades for modern families, including heated bathroom floors, ample closet space, black-out curtains, professional appliances and a Miele washer and dryer. We love the candlelight circular lighting above the dining table, the sun-hat display wall and the quirky stone arches on the exterior.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
