The La Crouzette Residence
Perks for the Parents
This spacious modern mountain house in the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park has a private pool, hot tub, nearby hotel facilities on tap and views to die for. It sleeps up to 8. Contemporary interiors open out to tranquil, sweeping views of the valley at every turn – the living space has sliding doors that open to the pool and the landscape beyond, and the windows make the most of the villa’s location. Parents will appreciate the little extras such as bathrobes and slippers. All guests have use of the facilities at the owner’s 1920s hotel, located just down the road (1km, a 2-minute drive or 15-minute walk), which include the hotel swimming pool (May to October), private river beach, fishing, hotel restaurant and bar.
Why Kids Love it
Interior spaces are generous and there’s space for kids to play or splash in the pool that’s heated with a safety alarm. As the villa is built onto the mountain, please note that there are some stairs and drop-offs where young children should be supervised. The hotel is an easy 15-minute walk away on the banks of the River Tarn. Parents can enjoy a cocktail in the bar while kids play, or eat at the hotel restaurant that welcomes children. Hire a canoe (or borrow one from the hotel) for the day to explore the River Tarn or lace up the walking boots for a family hike - the hotel can also arrange for a walking guide to take your family on a half or full-day itinerary.

About the Location
The villa is located rurally in the mountains in Grands Causses Regional Nature Park, on the edge of the Cévennes National Park in the Aveyron department of southern France. It is a vast and beautiful park full of gorges, valleys, mountains, forests, hiking trails, river pursuits and castles. Head 21km to Millau to stock up on supplies at supermarkets or for restaurants. If you like the outdoors, you’ll be in heaven with some of the deepest gorges in Europe on your doorstep. There's also rafting, natural water sliding, canyoning, climbing and even tandem paragliding. Otherwise, explore enchanting villages such as Sainte-Enimie, Saint-Chely-du-Tarn and Castelbouc or medieval ruins at the nearby Chateau de Peyrelade. Fly into Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport, approx. 2 hours by car.

Style Notes
Modern luxury. Nestled into the mountain and with some of the boldest and most beautiful views in France, this villa has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Sunbathe on the upper deck, enjoy lunch on the terrace or laze in the hot tub and soak up the landscape that surrounds you. The timber-clad villa offers contemporary living with white leather sofas and a modern fire in the living space, a glass-chrome kitchen and spacious bathrooms. We love the billiards room with velvet easy chairs and black and white photographs of old movie stars; the open plan kitchen and living space where you can all get together and the many spaces outside to relax and enjoy the view.
