Perks for the Parents

This luxury 3-bedroom Spanish colonial-style villa, with its own private pool and beach, is located within the 5-star Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club that includes tennis, golf, gym, spa, restaurant and a children’s play area. It sleeps up to 10 + 1. Surfers and would-be surfers should note this JW Marriott resort is located in front of one of the world-class surf breaks that lie along the secluded coast. The private beach is a short walk through palm trees from the villa. Relax by the pool or entertain family and friends on the large lanai overlooking the exotic garden. It’s likely that you’ll wake up to see monkeys and tropical birds in the trees from the bedrooms.

Why Kids Love it

There’s so much to keep kids entertained here while parents relax. Toys and pool toys are available and the large tropical garden and pool are great fun. Children under 12 go free at the beach club, and there’s a kids’ menu at the restaurant. The Beach Club has an infinity pool with shallow areas suitable for younger children and surf lessons are available nearby at Avellanas beach. The club also has tennis courts and mountain bike trails. If all else fails there’s 4500 acres of ranchland and dry tropical forest with hiking trails to explore. Children will see plenty of wildlife here including monkeys, parrots, toucans and iguanas.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Bookings during the year end holidays are for a full week and check-ins are accepted for the dates: Dec 19, Dec 22, Dec 26, and Dec 29. About the Location

The villa is located within the gated resort of Hacienda Pinalla, in the province of Guanacaste, northwest Costa Rica. Guanacaste has its roots as a ranching area and is known for its beautiful beaches and rich culture. The Hacienda lies along 3 miles of pristine coastline and covers an area of 4500 acres encompassing a nature preserve of dry tropical forest and plains, a working cattle ranch and an 18-hole golf course. There are miles of beaches and inland trails which are open all year to hikers, mountain bikers or horse-riders. To get here, fly to the Daniel Oduber International Airport, in Guanacaste’s capital city of Liberia, approximately 1 hr, 20 mins by taxi.

Accommodation Details

The villa has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. These are: 2 kingsize bedrooms with large ensuite bathrooms with a shower and tub, and 1 bedroom that has 2 full / double beds. There is also a guest bathroom with a toilet and a family bathroom with a shower and tub. The villa is on 1 level. There is a double-height fully equipped kitchen / diner with a table seating up to 12, a lounge area with seating and a large shaded veranda with lounge seating and hammocks. From here, steps lead down to a lap pool with sun beds and umbrellas. Around the villa are tropical trees and foliage.

Style Notes

Tropical luxury. This villa is one of the largest luxury homes in Hacienda Pinilla. The design is based on early 20th century Spanish colonial style, blended with traditional Costa Rican Hacienda architecture and constructed with over 20% sustainable local wood. It has a stucco exterior, clay-tile roof, exposed beams, wrought-iron details and impressive 18 ft ceilings. There are warm wood tones, terracotta and colorful furnishings, complimented by the lush green of the flora and fauna outside. We love the huge pool area where all the family can hang out, the hammocks on the veranda that the kids will love, and the fantastic amenities of the Beach Club on your doorstep.

Hola! My family and I would like to thank you for checking us out. We value our family time together and would like to share with you our home away from home. We enjoy swimming, surfing, beach days, cooking and picnics. We discovered CR a few years back and decided that Tamarindo was our favourite location. Safe beaches, mellow surfing, central location, proximity to airport and amenities made it an easy decision. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Pura Vida! The Moon family

Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica

Surfing and seabird sanctuaries

The Pacific coast of Costa Rica is one of the few mysterious Blue Zones in the world, where the locals are known to live active, healthy lives well past 100 years of age. Perhaps living on the most sought-after beach destination in the country, experiencing some of the best surfing in the world, and adopting the local laid-back bohemian attitude has something to do with it. Kids will love riding to the Montezuma waterfalls on horseback to explore natural swimming holes and speed themselves over the crystal clear water on classic rope swings.
