This apartment offers a great slice of London living, with wonderful views over the Thames and easy access to the sights. Just a minute’s walk from the nearest tube stop (Vauxhall), it is also walking distance from Big Ben and the London Eye. Explore the South Bank, renowned for its art and children’s festivals, grab lunch at Borough Market then stroll back, letting the river be your guide. A tablet is provided to help with concierge-style needs eg restaurant bookings, taxis, theatre tickets and babysitting. Barclays bikes can be hired just outside the flat.

Why Kids Love it

The spacious reception room allows ample space for kids to play. A kids toy box with books, games and fancy dress is included along with child plug/corner protectors,a crib, high chair, baby changing and kids dinnerware. It is easy to explore London from this destination and return for lunchtime naps; nearby child-friendly attractions include Vauxhall Park, a short stroll away, and Tate Britain just across the Thames, which has great family trails. For a treat, take the river taxi to the London Eye and 02 arena.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. The flat is safe and secure on the 10th floor, with fob entry and a double lock, plus a direct elevator to it. Children must be supervised on the balcony; the door to it can be locked. The lounge has a 60" TV with many channels, including BBC iplayer and Netflix. Tesco supermarket is right underneath the building, as are a few nice restaurants. Car rental not necessary: this part of London is well connected by public transport with many attractions a short walk away. There is a car park under the block, costing around £3/hour.

About the Location

The residence is in Nine Elms, very close to Vauxhall, on the bank of the River Thames. It is an easy walk to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, The London Eye, the National Theatre and Tate Britain. The nearest tube stop (1 minute walk) is Vauxhall (zone 1, Victoria line). The stop also has a rail service with local and national links, and a nearby bus station. The tube line is 2 stops from Victoria (with direct trains to Gatwick Airport), 6 mins to Green Park and 9 mins to Oxford Circus. Heathrow airport is an hour away by car.

Accommodation Details

The apartment is on 1 level with a balcony. There are 2 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and either a full/double or kingsize bed. Bathrooms include shower and bath. The main reception room is a lounge with 2 sofa beds (sleeping 4 in total); there is also a compact kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and oven, and a dining area. A utility room/toilet has a washer/dryer.

Style Notes

Modern luxury. Located on the 10th floor, this apartment’s private balcony and windows offer stunning views of the River Thames. Recently renovated with brand new furniture, it has a contemporary but comfortable style. The city-style kitchen is compact but well equipped; bedrooms are spacious. We love the stellar location, the views of boats in the water and the nearby glass and steel developments.

Jay and the team were great to work with, flexible, and helpful to accommodate all our needs. The location has to be the best in London, right next to two bus stops and an Underground station.

Nine Elms, London

Shiny, central and south of the river

Set between Battersea and Vauxhall, Nine Elms is an up-and-coming area south of the Thames. Luxury flats and new developments are springing up along the riverside here, where investments are transforming the area. Take in a game of cricket at The Oval, head to Battersea Park for Go Ape’s treetop adventure ropes course, or take a bus to Tate Britain and the stellar central London attractions of Westminster beyond it.
