Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of books, Legos, MagnaTiles, art supplies, and costumes for dress up. Toys provided particularly suit under 10s; older kids have games and space that will appeal to them as well. The children’s room has a beautiful peaceful rainbow mural on one wall. The children's rooms have black-out shades for restful sleep. The backyard is a great big space for kids to explore and play soccer or dig in the sand box. The Noe Valley Rec center is a block away, with basketball, tennis courts, an amazing playground, ping pong and indoor play area for kids.

Style Notes

Heritage chic. This Victorian-era property has been completely renovated but retains that gorgeous period charm in old door knobs, hardwood floors, high ceilings and bay windows. There are fabulous views from the top floor windows, 2 back decks and chef's kitchen. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the living room and bright light flows in from the large windows. We love the rainbow mural in the kids bedroom, the spacious back yard and the elegant living room.

Our family loves going skiing in the mountains, swimming on the beaches of Hawaii and Mexico, hiking and camping. We LOVE the outdoors!! And we love exploring new places. Our next international destination will be to visit family in New Zealand and the beaches in Thailand. We joined Kid & Coe after friends suggested it to us as a great way to have someone stay at your house while traveling and make some money in the process. And we specifically chose Kid & Coe, because our house is a family house and families would love our house as their home away from home.

This home was just perfect for our family of 4 (kids aged 2 and 7) along with 2 grandparents. The neighborhood is just right-- far away enough to be quiet and have a great view of the city center, but convenient to the center via trolley (or car). The hosts were friendly (wine waiting in the fridge!), available, and unobtrusive. Highlights were the playroom-- so great that it made it difficult to get our kids out of the house-- having the bedrooms on an upper level so grown ups could relax downstairs-- the neighborhood 4th of July party-- local restaurants. It was great fun to feel like San Francisco residents.

Our family had a great visit to The Church Residence. There were plenty of toys and activities that kept our four children entertained while we took a break from touring San Francisco. The character and charm of the home made for a genuine city experience. The host was very easy to communicate with and offered plenty of tips and recommendations for traveling with children.

This experience was more than we could have hoped for. The house was beautiful, well-appointed, and perfect for 2 families with 2 children each. Lots of new toys for the kids to play with and ample room for them to sleep in separate beds, play together or apart (when needed) as well as give the adults some breathing room. The outside area was a big bonus as well. All in all, this was a 10!

Parks and shopping

This central part of San Francisco, bordered by the Mission District and Bernal Heights, is chock-full of pretty and colorful Victorian and Edwardian buildings, along with streets that swoop up and down hills. Popular with young families, it’s one of the city’s most desirable residential neighborhoods and has parks, a main street lined with vintage shops, artisan bakeries and cafés, and easy transit into downtown and around the city.
