Perks for the Parents

This spacious, bright and beautiful apartment has plenty for parents: it’s close to some of Paris’ key foodie areas and is laid out over 2 stories with plenty of space for all. There is a full kitchen to make the most of cooking opportunities and plenty for the kids; the residence is on the 4th floor above offices so kids can make noise unhindered.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has WiFi throughout and a large TV, plus a good collection of DVDs. There are cartoons and books in English for kids and adults. The family room, with TV and Apple computer, allows children to watch a movie without disturbing the parents, or vice versa. There are 3 single bedrooms ideal for kids.

Things to Know

The residence is on the 4th floor with no elevator. Two bedrooms and 1 bathroom are on the 1st floor of the apartment, with the other 3 bedrooms and bathroom on the floor above. There are 2 double beds, 3 single beds and one sofa bed in the family room if necessary. A crib and high chair are available on demand. There are no stairgates.

About the Location

In the 9th arrondissement, walking distance from the Opera, Montmartre and the Jardin du Palais Royal. Five minutes’ walk from 4 different metro stations (Notre Dame de Lorette, Le Peletier, Saint-Georges and Richelieu Drouot) and well connected by bus to the city at large. Car hire not necessary.

Accommodation Details

Five bedroom 2 floor apartment with 1 family room with a Mac computer and large TV, 1 living room and a separate eat-in kitchen. There are 3 bathrooms, including one with a bath. For people who love to cook, the kitchen is well equipped with a Thermomix and a La Cornue cooker with 2 ovens. Three of the bedrooms have single beds, one has a double bed and one has a queensize bed. A sofa bed is also available. There is a small balcony.

Style Notes

The flat is very bright, with 3 big windows in the living room and was entirely renovated in September 2014. There is parquet floor throughout in a nod to traditional Parisian style. The look is contemporary and classic, with Scandinavian chairs signed Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard, striking modern paintings on the wall and classic busts on shelves. We love the blue/white/black tiled floor in the kitchen and the chic white tiled bathroom.

I'm Irène, a portrait photographer. I'm married with Paul for 20 years. We have four boys, 18, 16, 13 and 7. We moved to Paris last September, after spending 8 years in the South of France. We love travelling with the children. I joined Kid & Coe to allow families to benefit from our nice flat and a to take the opportunity to visit some new places.

I had arranged for my extended family to stay at Irene's place while they were in Paris for my wedding and I couldn't have picked a better apartment!! We were able to accommodate two grandparents, four parents, two toddlers and two babies with room to spare. If you know Paris, it is incredible to be able to find this much family-friendly space where such a large group can gather and stay comfortably. Having three bathrooms was amazing! The apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures, very clean and very bright. Irene was a lovely host and was able to provide us with a baby crib and chair. There are so many places to eat and buy groceries within walking distance. It's a really lively and fun neighbourhood, yet the apartment itself was incredibly quiet. The only downside was the amount of stairs leading up to the apartment which was a bit hard with the baby strollers, however you will find that in many Paris apartments so we didn't mind. I would 100% recommend a stay at Irene's lovely apartment, especially if you are a larger group!

Beautiful apartment - was great for our group of six. Central neighborhood which made it easy to walk to many attractions or grab the nearby metro. Our two teenage boys were able to get haircuts at the hip men's barbershop downstairs in the building! Be careful staging small kids up there; the two bedrooms are bisected by the stairwell which is a sudden drop-off...you can get hurt if you're not looking or are walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Paris and at this Residence. The floorplan is very open and the rooms were perfectly sized and private. Our children (3.5 yo and 1 yo) loved the toys in the youngest boys room and happily sat at the dining table and slept in the beds. Grandma and Grandpa were traveling with us and enjoyed the second floor room(s) and bathroom. The home is centrally located, grocery stores and parks nearby as well as the Metro station. The street was quiet at night and we felt very safe. The home also stayed very cool during the hot summer weather and we enjoyed opening the windows at night and the fresh breeze that followed. We would stay here again when passing through Paris!

Small shops and a Sunday market

This area of central Paris, 20 minutes' walk from the Louvre, is safe, classy and family friendly. Its streets are lined with some of the best foodie shops in the city, with patisseries, bakeries and boutiques nearby plus a Sunday market along rue des Martyrs. It's not far from the classic Parisian districts of Pigalle and Montmartre.
