Perks for the Parents

This spacious Victorian house in the heart of Paddington is walking distance from Centennial Park and is well connected to the city at large. With high-ceilinged rooms and plenty of space, it works well for a family with a full kitchen, family-sized dining area and separate kids play area flowing to a contained level garden. The home also has a family bathroom with shower and separate bath with toys for the kids. There are plenty of great restaurants a short walk away in the neighborhood; Bondi and the city’s eastern beaches are a 10-minute drive away.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and books for babies and toddler age boys and girls, including picture books, soft toys and a rocking sheep, and there is a contained garden large enough to kick a ball or run under the sprinkler on hot days. It’s a short walk from a choice of small local playgrounds and Centennial Park, which has an outdoor cinema, markets, baby groups and more. The large children’s bedroom is useful as an additional play area, while the third bedroom is a quiet place for the baby to sleep away from the main noise of the house. A cot, high chair, change table, toddlers table, bed rails and bath toys are provided.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 days. The house is safe and secure with easy level pedestrian and parking access. There is a child gate on the baby’s room and a spare one available for the stairs if needed. There are corner guards on the dining table and coffee table. The ground floor has no level changes so is great for babies and toddlers. There is air conditioning in the kitchen and master bedroom and there are ceiling fans in other bedrooms. Car hire recommended; there is double off-street parking.

About the Location

The residence is in the heart of the fashionable inner-city eastern suburb of Paddington, on one of the prettiest, quietest streets in the area, lined with Victorian-era terraces. It is surrounded by historic pubs, cosy cafés and upmarket restaurants. Oxford Street is footsteps away with its fashionable retail and easy public transport options. Centennial Park is an easy walk down the street. It is a 20-minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes’ drive from the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and museums and galleries.

Accommodation Details

This 3 bedroom 2 story terrace has a large open living and dining room, a sun-filled kitchen with toddlers’ table and a play area stocked with toys opening onto a level garden with lawn. There is also a separate laundry and WC. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and balcony, a large children’s bedroom with 1 single bed and 1 trundle bed, and a baby’s room with a cot.

Style Notes

Bright and light with soaring ceilings. The house has a mixture of traditional period details - those ceilings plus latticed gingerbread-style decorations and original wooden floors - and has been furnished in a contemporary style with a calm neutral palette. We love the tropical plants draping over the balconies, the large bedrooms and beautiful chairs and the tasteful and inspiring artwork.
