Perks for the Parents
A deliciously peachy pink paradise in Palm Springs, complete with heated pool, mountain views and baby gear on request. It sleeps 8 + 1. The home has a well-stocked kitchen complete with all the must-have family gadgets, from a waffle maker to a Ninja food processor and fondue set. The large heated pool is sure to occupy everyone's time, with MCM loungers and adjustable sun hoop shades. The living room doubles as a swank lounge with a projector and popcorn machine for movie nights and a record player and vintage records for cocktail hour. For family dining, the BBQ makes al fresco meals easy - cook up a storm on the gas propane double grill under the show-stopping landscape views - or head out downtown for a choice of family-friendly eateries and world-class restaurants.
Why Kids Love it
The ranch-style home makes hosting toddlers a breeze, with no worries about stairs and lots of visible spaces thanks to the open plan layout. The large fenced-in yard is great for the kids to run around and the cozy hammock is a go-to spot when you want to swing and relax. Kids will keep busy outside with the large pool inflatables, Cornhole and mini golf along with spotting the butterflies and hummingbirds that frequent the property daily. There are a few large grassy parks close by with tennis courts and playgrounds too. A pack and play, high chair and other items can be provided on request. The hosts also work with Baby Quip for baby and toddler rentals.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 4 nights. There is a 12.5% + 2.5% credit card fee for city taxes applicable to every booking. This will be charged in addition to the total booking fee. Safety notes: there is no fence around the pool, so you’ll have to keep an eye on young children. Please note that desert landscaping, especially the cacti, can be sharp and prickly. The desert gets pretty hot in the summer, but the pool is perfect for helping you cool you off. In the fall and winter, the weather is ideal. There is parking for 2 cars on the driveway and there is also on-street parking. The bathroom is a single bathroom with 2 separate bathtubs and showers, as well as 2 toilets and sinks. By closing the shower curtains for privacy, it feels like 2 separate bathrooms. The pool can be heated for an additional fee of $50/day. City of Palm Springs listing registration #5158.
About the Location
The property is located in Racquet Club Estates, the first neighborhood in Palm Springs where some of the brightest stars were said to frequent such as Marilyn Monroe, JFK, and Steve McQueen. With plenty of architect-designed Alexander homes in the neighborhood, you’ll have no shortage of eye candy when strolling about town. It’s just a 10-minute ride to the airport and a short bike ride downtown (for museums, stores and restaurants), so you’ll be centrally located in the heart of Palm Springs. The house is located near a grocery store, the Tramway and the Post Office.
Accommodation Details
This residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 connected bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. The heart of the home is the large kitchen, living and dining rooms, which open out onto the pool and palms, perfectly framed with the spiritual St Jacinto mountain backdrop - an idyllic example of the laid back, indoor/outdoor lifestyle that Palm Springs is so well known for. There is a primary bedroom with a queensize bed and 2 further queensize guest rooms. The hosts also have 1 airbed available. The bathroom is double sized with side-by-side tubs/showers for the ultimate couples night in or kids bath time.
Style Notes
Mid-century Alexander home. These beautiful post-and-beam homes were designed by Palmer-Kriesel architects, easily recognisable by their soaring wafer-thin rooflines, clerestory windows and open floor plan. One of 360 homes built by the famed Alexander Construction Company that is said to have started the mid-century home movement in Palm Springs, the home was recently refurbished to maintain integrity of the original design. We love the peachy pink color palette and the sorbet shades used in the kitchen, the glamorous mirror-fronted closet doors and the colorful exterior seating areas.

Palm Springs, California
Dinosaurs, design and the desert
Don't tell everyone, but Palm Springs is a truly great vacation spot for families. Sit in your sunny backyard and take a dip in the pool to cool off; play in neighborhood parks or take to the desert, spotting dinosaur attractions beside the road as you go. It's a great area for hiking if your kids are big enough, and water parks are a must-do, at least once during your stay. Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage has a huge green lawn where kids can play - on Sunday mornings they bring big toys out specially for them! Cultural appeal comes courtesy of the Living Desert and the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert, plus myriad design, art and architecture museums that are stroller-friendly and great for older kids too.
