This cottage on the Antognolla Estate has 2 double bedrooms, sleeping 4, plus stunning views of the forests, castle and monastery nearby. In Northern Umbria, 15 minutes from Perugia, it’s a countryside retreat with landscaped gardens, banks of fragrant lavender and a shaded terrace for outdoor dining with local wine (what else?). It’s a stylish, slightly rustic cottage with a wood burning fire, modern bathrooms and well equipped kitchen for whipping up a family meal from local produce. Daytrip to Tuscany and La Marche, just across the Umbrian border, visit Florence for the day, or explore the surrounding countryside, nature parks and university town of Perugia.

What we love

  • It’s surrounded by fragrant flower beds, banks of lavender and acres of landscaped gardens - that’s before you even touch the views over the valley
  • The bells of the monastery ring out at certain times of day, lending a unique musical backdrop to your stay
  • Alfresco dining on the terrace, drinking local wine and admiring the view, makes it a relaxing vacation to remember
  • The kitchen is well equipped with a stove, oven and gas range and the dining room has a built-in, fan-forced pizza oven
  • It’s part of a 600-year-old estate, yet the modern fixtures - dishwasher and washing machine included - make it a luxurious place to stay
  • The 2 double bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and can be made up as twin or double beds
  • It's well placed for day trips to Tuscany and Le Marche, and Florence is 1.5 hours away by car

Truly heavenly stay. The cottage grounds are stunning - you're in the middle of a private estate, which I can only compare to the Scottish Highlands with sun! The cottage itself is beautifully appointed, with ample space and facilities for the whole family. You share the pool with the villa, but the grounds are big enough to not be on top of each other. We stayed with our one year old daughter, who loved it! Toys, a cot, bedding and a high chair were supplied and all in great condition. We'll be returning for sure.

Absolutely wonderful stay! So peaceful and tranquil, pool is beautiful and an awesome BBQ. Our kids loved the extensive gardens, picked Rosemary to use in dinner and loved running through the olive trees (all named - our daughters favourite was called Pegasus!) and finding little figs growing on the gorgeous fig trees. Will come again to stay with more family. Thanks again!

We had a magical stay at Capanne Villa. It's setting is beautiful with amazing garden, pool and view. The cottage itself is beautiful and very comfortable. Our kids didn't wanted to leave the place. We definitely would love to come there again.
