This carefully preserved 17th century estate in the hills of Valfabbrica, close to Perugia, includes a farmhouse, villa and barn conversion with 9 separate apartments to rent combined or separately to sleep a maximum of 30. Surrounded by 20 acres of private land, it is characterful with stone archways, a flock of chickens and plenty of space to play in the gardens, which have views of Gubbio and terraces planted with rosemary, sage, bay and lavender. Along with a large pool, the estate has games and activities for kids including badminton, boules, ping pong and bikes, and there is a children’s play area, a mini soccer goal, a sand pit and a small paddling pool with toys for young tots. Plenty is provided for those traveling with babies and toddlers - from potties and high chairs to toys and books and plastic plates. To make things even easier, the estate has a restaurant open twice a week with a child’s menu plus additional services: food delivery, a shopping service, fresh bread and pastries each day, massage and beauty treatments and babysitting.

Nearby, the village of Casa Castalda has a play park, and there are medieval towns to wander including Gubbio and Assisi, just a short drive away. There are plenty of activities for children in the area, with castles to visit, boat trips on local lakes, water parks, caves, and the Gubbio dinosaur museum to name a few. For more information, please visit the individual apartment pages (below).

We were a young energetic couple who gave up sensible jobs in the city to pursue our dream of living and working in Italy. We are passionate about preserving the environment, locally grown food and embracing a slower pace of life. We spent several years painstakingly restoring our abandoned 17th century farmstead and even longer resurrecting and clearing the 20 acres of surrounding olive groves and abandoned countryside. We have opened our home to visitors since 2007 -We are pleased to say that after many years of hard work we have created a beautiful, environmentally & family friendly holiday villa that offers the perfect place in which to enjoy everything Umbria has to offer. We also manage and run a small organic farm which grows soft fruit, olives for oil and organic vegetables. We are now lucky enough to be living the Italian dream at Villa Pian Di Cascina with our 3 young children, our lovely black Labrador, Ollie and our very friendly flock of chickens.
