Perks for the Parents

This apartment, close to Piazza Venezia and across the river from the Trastevere area, is in a vivacious and picturesque area of the city with atmosphere and trattorias aplenty. Spread over 60 sqm, it is on the second floor of a palazzo in the Rione Sant’Angelo district in the Jewish area. It is 2 minutes to Trastevere and the Piazza Trilussa with shops and restaurants nearby but also plenty of peace and quiet. The hosts provide a brochure with unique tours and a map of Rome and can help organize transfers to and from the airport. Also available on request: cleaning during your stay, laundry, crib, babysitting, guided tours of the city and tickets for major attractions.

Why Kids Love it

The apartment is bright and colorful and there is a little space for kids to play in the living room and kitchen. The kids bedroom is directly on entry and a crib can be added to the large master bedroom. The hosts can provide toys and books. There are local playgrounds a short walk away. The apartment has a high chair. The hosts can arrange babysitting and everything parents need on request. Many of the city’s sights and attractions are within walking distance, including the Pantheon (10 minutes) and Piazza Navona (15 minutes), along with child-friendly eateries and gelato shops.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. The price is exclusive of Rome City Tax: all guests over the age of 10 must pay €3.50 per day in cash on check in. Check in is typically 2-8pm; late check in is possible for an extra fee - €30 after 8pm and €50 after 10.30pm. Check out is 10am. Heating and air conditioning in every room. Note that the second bedroom is right as you walk in and has a double sofa bed. Included: unlimited fast WiFi, dishwasher, 32-inch and 40-inch LCD TVs. Guests will be greeted on arrival. Car rental not recommended; parking and driving can be tricky and much of the city is reachable on foot from this location.

About the Location

This residence is in Pescheria in the old Jewish quarter of the historical heart of Rome, close to Piazza Venezia and just across the Tiber from Trastevere. It is a short distance from the city’s main attractions with many of them a 10-15 minute walk away, including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Piazza Venezia. The Colosseum is 20 minutes’ walk away. The neighborhood itself is filled with restaurants, churches and synagogues and combines Jewish culture and the grandeur of Roman architecture. Leonardo da Vinci International airport is a 35-minute drive away, as is Ciampino airport.

Accommodation Details

The residence has 2 bedrooms and is laid out with a living room/bedroom on entry with a double sofa bed, a well equipped kitchen with dining table and a small private balcony. The master bedroom is beyond the kitchen along with the bathroom with tub and shower. A crib can be accommodated in the master bedroom easily. There is no outdoor space. The apartment is all on 1 level and is on the second floor of palazzo building with an inner courtyard with a flight of stairs to it.

Style Notes

Modern living. This apartment was recently renovated by a famous Roman architect and an interior designer. On the walls there are couple of masterpieces by young Italian artists, alongside modern graphic wallpaper; furniture is modern and sleek with a similar graphic theme. We love the master bedroom with its pretty wallpaper and monochrome look, the sweet space on the balcony for morning coffee with rooftop views and the location for an authentic stay in the city.

We are a tight knit team based in Rome who have made it our mission to provide our guests with the most charming, unique and cosy homes in Rome and close to Rome. We are constantly looking for new ways of providing our services and sharing our love for Rome, the most recent of which is Wonder Where To Stay. To us hosting is a way of letting the world come a little bit closer to Rome and vice versa, because living a city and experiencing its ways also means bringing something of your own into the colourful mix. We live and love in Rome and know its every nook and cranny; inside knowledge we will gladly share once you arrive, to make sure you don't miss a single bit of all the wonders. Many of our recommendations will be regarding the food, which is (obviously) essential. We take this basic necessity very seriously and consider it one of the best ways to get to know a culture and its ways. We are always available for any requests regarding Rome, individual interests and wishes, our apartments or something different entirely; we will do everything we can to make our guests wishes come true. Naturally we don't live confined in an oil lamp, but enjoy a lovely home like anyone else, which is why we put great effort in making sure our apartments are always in tip top shape, the way we would expect them to be for ourselves and our family and friends. Ciao I'm Maria :-) Got the specialist degree in foreign languages and literature, now I'm exploring the unique world of art. I'm definitely passionate about meeting new people, understanding the intricacies of foreign cultures and of italian art, which inspires me like nothing else in the world. I'm looking forward to see you in one of the most beautiful cities on our planet to show you how quickly and and forever Rome makes fall in love with itself .

We had a great stay in Gianluca's apartment. The location is wonderful - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, and there are great cafes and restaurants close by (also gelato!). Gianluca and his team were great: check-in was easy, they helped us find lovely babysitters, and arranged easy airport transportation. I definitely recommend it for small families who want a convenient base for exploring Rome.

We had a lovely stay at Gianluca's place. Gianluca was very helpful before our trip to help us plan our stay and book our taxi. The flat is very central with lots of great restaurants close by. You can visit most of the city by foot. It's also well equiped for travelling with a baby ( stroller / high chair...)

This is not a true 2 bedroom. It is a one bedroom, 1 bath with a convertible couch at the entry to the house. The location is excellent and the apartment was very clean. Gianluca was very helpful and flexible with my check in.

Pescheria, Rome

Restaurants, churches and grand architecture

History hides beneath the streets of Pescheria, a central Roman neighborhood in the Jewish quarter of the city. Dating to 1555, the area here was originally delineated for fishmongers, hence the name. Now a thriving quarter with restaurants, churches and synagogues, it combines Jewish culture and grand Roman architecture. A short stroll will bring you to gelateria, trattoria and dazzling sights including the Pantheon and the Colosseum.
