What we love

  • Convenient location, close to Los Angeles but quiet except for the occasional seagull
  • Walking distance from the beach

  • Backyard with a play house for the kids plus a children’s play area downstairs, with lots of toys and games to keep little ones busy
  • Gourmet kitchen with a wall-mounted double oven, coffee machine and plenty of counter space
  • Great for cyclists – the bike path at the beach is closed to cars and goes toward Palos Verdes to the south and Santa Monica to the north
  • Wine storage system to protect your finds from the nearby wine country of Santa Barbara and Paso Robles

We're a family of four - we're in our mid-thirties and the kiddos are aged 6 and 1 1/2. We love to travel; we've taken the kids to Hawaii and on some adventurous camping trips. Right now, we're preparing for a trip to Europe for the summer of 2015!

Playa del Rey, Los Angeles

Sunshine, sand dunes and cycling

This beachside town to the west of LA, just down the coast from Venice, is both well placed for visiting the city and a harmonious place to base yourself as a family. Sunbathe on wide stretches of beach, explore the sand dunes and the lagoon, or get active by hiking, playing tennis, kayaking or cycling along the 30-mile-long beach path.
