Italian dream. This exquisite property, designed with contemporary creative touches and retaining original features, is a real 5-star property and a unique place to stay in Puglia. I am a Mum of two children. My eldest - Ben - is 13 years old and my youngest - Lucy - is ten. As a family, we holiday in Italy 2-3 times a year and love the laid back, relaxed atmosphere that Italy offers us. Italians respect traditional family values and adore children as much as they love their food, which in our eyes makes it the perfect family holiday destination! When they were little we liked to holiday in the Italian Lakes in particular. Our children are now old enough to enjoy the many water sports that the area offers, but we were holidaying in the area since they were only just crawling and found that the area offered plenty for them to enjoy whatever their age. We can already see how much it will offer them as teenagers too! We now like to explore other areas of Italy too, our favourites being Puglia, Tuscany and Umbria as well as the Lakes region. I hope that I can help other families to find their perfect holiday in Italy.

Puglia, Italy

Meadows, beaches and sun-ripened figs

It’s no surprise that Puglia is beloved by Italian tourists: with pristine sandy beaches, hilltop towns filled with Baroque churches and meadows of wildflowers and olive groves, it’s a sensational vacation spot. Down on the heel of Italy, it’s known for its ‘peasant food’ - simple dishes bursting with the sun-ripened flavors of local figs, olive oil, tomatoes and peppers. Entertain the kids with gelato and beaches, then explore some of the area’s special treats, including the limestone caves of the Grotte di Castellano and the eerie UNESCO-listed Castel del Monte. The town of Alberobello is also well worth a visit for trullo-spotting - the town has over 1,500 of the region’s classic cylindrical houses that you can't see anywhere else in Italy.
