Perks for the Parents

This relaxing family retreat in the heart of the Laurel Heights neighborhood has newly-renovated interiors and a park across the street for kids. It sleeps 4. Parents will love the ease and convenience of this home and this area: this neighborhood is the ‘heart’ of pediatric care in San Francisco, so in case of emergencies, medical help for children is only mere minutes away. There’s a beautiful kitchen (with Trader Joe’s and gourmet grocers nearby), but if you’re here to enjoy the city’s famous foodie scene, it’s just 5 minutes’ walk from a huge range of restaurants and eateries, from Super Duper Burgers to Italian, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines.

Why Kids Love it

Kids of all ages will love this home, as there is so much to do for families within a short walk and a quick drive. The house is just across the street from a park with a children’s playground, sand pits, tennis court, half-size basketball court, half-size baseball field and grass soccer field. Within the home, the second bedroom is set up with 2 twin beds, so kids can have their own space at bedtime, and there’s also a desk in their bedroom for drawing or reading time. When they’re ready to explore further afield, visit Golden Gate Park for nature walks or visits to Museum of Science and De Young Museum (art). Or head to the Presidio for more nature walks and amazing views to Walt Disney Museum, Chrissy Fields and the newly constructed Tunnel Top Park.

Accommodation Details

The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. The main living area boasts a spacious open design, with direct sunlight streaming in all day. The dining room is outfitted with a hand-crafted wood dining table and benches, while the living room has a decorative (non-functional) fireplace and park views with glimpses of the Golden Gate Bridge. As you turn towards the back of the house, you’ll find the newly-renovated kitchen, equipped with an Italian gas range and oven, full size fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave/airfryer combo and toaster. Separated from the main living area by a hallway are the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Both bathrooms are newly renovated, with bidet toilets (plus heated seats and auto-flush). The primary bedroom has a queensize bed, while the other has 2 twin beds.

Style Notes

Cozy and calm. The home is bright and airy all day long thanks to the south and south-west exposures - look out to the large garden from the kitchen, filled with lavender, flowering shrubs and fruit trees. It's an uncluttered and clean environment that’s perfect for families to relax in - you won’t feel like you have to closely watch the kids as they topple over a precious heirloom. We love the sophisticated neutral kitchen with luxurious marbled countertops, the charming 4-poster bed and the monochrome contemporary bathroom.
