There is a comfortable lounge opening to a back yard.

Why Kids Love it

The house is filled with toys and games and is great for children under 10, with space to play in the upstairs bedrooms and in the lounge. The garden is large enough that kids can ride bikes around it. There is a big playground around the corner and a park a 10-minute walk away. In the house, kids can play with Lego, dressing up, start a shop or be a chef in their own kitchen. For a baby there is a crib, high chair and toys.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. The apartment is laid out over 2 floors with a private entrance; there are neighbors in the upstairs apartment with their own entrance. The house is baby proof, all the electric points have a build-in safety security. A stair gate is available. Paid parking is possible nearby, but with reliable public transport options, car hire is not essential. The garden is a work in progress and will be completed in 2016.

About the Location

The house is located just outside the center of Amsterdam in a family friendly neighborhood. There are public transport options (bus and tram) a stone’s throw from the property. The nearest park is about a 10-minute walk. The Pijp area, famous for the Albert Cujpmarket, had great shops, bars and restaurants and is 5 minutes by tram or 10 if you walk. The canal is a short 2-block walk away.

Style Notes

Bright and modern. The house has a big black kitchen with concrete counter/bar and downstairs, the house has a industrial feeling. Upstairs all the bedrooms are white with a touch of black. Plenty of quirky and creative touches make it appealing to children - washi tape hopscotch squares on the painted wooden floors, garlands on the walls and a paper mâché fox head.

Noor was fantastic at helping with the booking, quick and easy process and she also kindly helped us line up a babysitter for 2 nights too. The property wasn't clean however. Loo left unflushed downstairs (say no more) Highchair and surfaces had to be cleaned. We arrived on time to a half hr wait for sheets to be put on and house to be tidied up. Days can be hectic with children I understand but this was a disappointing and awkward. That said the set up of the property is great and it was so useful having a cot to use and toys etc so as to be able to travel with less.

Noor was a pleasure to work with, and we really enjoyed staying at her home. It was our first time having our baby sleep in a separate room from us, but the nursery was close enough to the master bedroom that we could easily hear if she cried or needed us. The kitchen is incredible, and if we had stayed longer, I would've loved to spend more time there cooking! The neighborhood was really quaint and easy access to public transit. My only caution to others is that the stairs are very steep to get to the bedrooms upstairs, so I'm not sure they would be good for toddlers. My husband was even a little nervous since he doesn't have great balance, so I did all the carrying of the baby up and down. As long as you can comfortably carry your child, you should be fine! Thanks, Noor. Had a wonderful stay and was very happy with Kid & Coe!

Had a wonderful stay, the place was as described, beautiful home with wonderful kitchen and bathroom. Lots of toys and books. Noor was very accommodating making arrangements for an additional child bed and air bed. Very flexible about check in and out times. There is a local park and pool wonderful for small children. Would highly recommend it.

Rivierenbuurt, Amsterdam

Wide streets and green spaces

In the eastern part of Amsterdam-Zuid, Rivierenbuurt is an architect-lovers dream, with wide streets and classic townhouses from the 1920s and 30s along them. Near the lively Pijp district, it is a calm area home to plenty of families who love the area’s swimming pools, cycle routes and green spaces.
