Perks for the Parents

This family home with a stunning back yard is in one of Toronto’s most prestigious and desirable neighborhoods. A 3-minute walk to the subway, walking distance to the best restaurant and shopping in Toronto and a 10-minute walk to Yorkville and Bloor St shopping district, it is convenient for most locations and makes a family stay in the city easy. The house has plenty of open space for a family, a built-in kitchen banquette for cozy meals and a back yard with trampoline, Weber barbecue and 6-person hot tub.

Why Kids Love it

This is a great house for children under 10 - there are plenty of books and toys provided plus bikes for all ages, strollers, scooters and a wagon for getting around the neighborhood and taking to the local park. The city’s best children's park is 2 minutes’ walk behind the home. There are plenty of toy trucks and trains. There are dedicated children’s bedrooms - 1 neutral, 1 in pink and one with a toddler car bed.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. The hot tub has safe closure and is kid proof. There is parking at the property if required. There are no stair gates - note that this affects the top children's bedroom in particular which has stairs directly down from it. House cleaning every 3 days is included. No pets, no smoking. The property has an ADT alarm system. Car rental is not necessary as subway and bus transit and at the doorstep. A reliable babysitter service is available if needed. The residence has 2 gyms under 10 minutes’ walk away, 2 children’s parks within 5 minutes’ walk and the subway a 3-minute walk away. The housekeeper lives in the basement of the property - the door to it is lockable from both sides.

About the Location

Rosedale is a prestigious neighborhood around 10-15 minutes north of downtown Toronto. The best of everything is minutes away, including Ramsden Park, with a playground and splash pool, a great independent café, Yorkville and the city’s best butcher, fish market and fresh produce. Whole Foods is a 10-minute walk away. It is 30 minutes’ drive from the international airport and 10 minutes to downtown attractions including ACC, Rogers Centre, Ripley's Aquarium and the CN Tower.

Accommodation Details

This 4-bedroom 3-story home has a large eat-in kitchen with banquette seating, sunroom and large family room. On the second floor there is a master bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with tub and shower, and 2 additional bedrooms with queensize beds. The third floor bedroom has queen bed and an additional toddler bed in the adjoining open space loft, plus ensuite bathroom with stone shower and skylight. There is a piano in the kitchen along with a mac computer work station desk.

Style Notes

Bright and family-focused. There are large open spaces for kids to play, a sunroom in the back of the house which is warm and bright, and a fantastic south-facing back yard with trampoline, hot tub, deck and artificial turf. Inside the house is bright with large windows, neutral colors and a simple modern main floor. There are hardwood floors and granite counters. We love the pretty play corners and the breakfast nook.

We are from Toronto, Canada and enjoy traveling to warm destinations with our children as well as skiing and city travel. Toronto is an amazing city and we love living in this culturally diverse city with friendly people and the highest quality shopping, restaurants and services right in our neighbourhood.

This is a beautiful house with so many fantastic facilities in a great location. Hosts were so friendly and worked quickly to try and help us solve our problems. Unfortunately when we arrived late at night it was not set up as listed and there was no cot for my baby and no bed for our toddler. There were also people staying in the basement (with no separate door) who were playing loud music etc. This was quite disconcerting as we were expecting the whole property to be vacant. I am sure these problems are resolved now and would encourage anyone to stay here.

Rosedale, Toronto

Boutiques, mansions and playgrounds

Toronto’s finest mansions and most fashionable addresses are found here in Rosedale. These leafy streets hide the city’s best parks and playgrounds and are backed by acres of ravines, parkland and green spaces that belie the fact that you are only 10 minutes from downtown Toronto. Don’t miss covetable babywear boutiques and buzzing cafés on Yonge Street, picnicking in local parks and Rosedale Park’s Mayfair, held in early May each year.
