The hosts know the area very well and can make suggestions of family-friendly activities and day trips; the house manager has young children and can also assist. Style Notes

Modern Provence. This 250-year-old stone farmhouse has been updated with contemporary art, comfortable modern furniture and luxury touches to create a truly special place to stay. Bedrooms are pared back and simple with ultra-comfortable beds, while the kitchen is a real highlight, with a large island, back kitchen and top of the range fixtures and fittings. Contemporary art and sculpture bring the living area to life. We love the covered terrace, ideal for play whatever the weather, the classic wood-beamed ceilings and the sunny garden.

We had a wonderful stay at Mas de la Perdrix. The property is stunning, perfect for families. The pool is great, especially on a hot summer day in Provence. The location of the property is a nice jumping off point for many day trips throughout the area. The town of Roussillon is lovely as well. The property managers and owners were very responsive and helpful throughout the week. Thanks!

We had a lovely stay and the owners gave great recommendations -- including one for a fabulous chef, whom we hired to cook a spectacular meal one night. There were a few items that kept me from rating 5 stars. The front of the house is not as beautiful as the back; admittedly, we were thrown for a loop as we drove up. While the entrance doesn't resemble any of the pictures posted on the site, once inside, the house was very nice. The kitchen and pool were fabulous -- two of the main reasons we booked the property. I would have loved if the bedding/sheets were a a bit newer, but everything was clean. It should be noted that the current owners are trying to sell this property (a fact we learned as we were asked to straighten up and be outside of the home three times during our week). Overall, it was a wonderful vacation

Roussillon, Provence

A riot of color

In the Luberon Valley in southeast France, east of Avignon and north of Marseille, Roussillon is a stunning village of medieval streets and gourmet restaurants. The fields around the town are stained a bright ochre red and there are walking trails through the old ochre quarries. It is one of the area’s most loved hilltop villages.
