I am a Mom and physical therapist from San Francisco, CA. My family partnered with another San Francisco family to buy our vacation home in Guerneville in 2012. We are happy to be able to share it with other families with children. We hope you enjoy your time at our home as much as we do.

Sarah's home is incredible. It is really hard to explain the experience of sitting on the deck and looking at the massive redwoods all around the property. To make an understatement, the trees have a real presence to them. Our kids absolutely loved this house. They were so excited to climb into the bunkbeds every night. We all loved the furniture and overall style of the house as well. The private dock w/ kayaks, canoes, and a SUP, was a fantastic amenity. There were great restaurants nearby and easy access to many great towns and coastal parks. This place is a gem. We can't wait to come back.

Fantastic property. The house is very well maintained with all you need to house adults and kids alike! Very thoughtfully and tastefully decorated. A dream to cook in the kitchen. The outdoor kid swings were a major plus. Can't wait to stay there again.

This house feels like a treehouse above the Russian River. The deck is amazing! And the direct river access, with kayaks, canoe, and paddle board make getting on the water so easy. The house was stocked with floaties, life jackets, beach towels, beach chairs, and kids toys (indoor and outdoor). We shared the house with another family and plan to book a return trip next July - and stay even longer!

Our family had a blast staying at the Riverside Drive residence. I loved that the house was right on the river, with a private dock. We were happy lazing around and swimming right off the dock- no need to go to the beach to access the water! The toys and equipment were so nice to have. My kids loved the books and games in the house. We liked being just a short drive from town for good restaurants and ice cream and having a Safeway just down the road for supplies. We would definitely come back again.

We had a great time at the Riverside Dr. residence. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. Our daughters loved the bunk beds and the pillows and duvets were super cozy. The heated floors made the house very warm and comfortable. The owner, Sarah, was very helpful with tips on wineries and restaurants around the towns. We will definitely be back!

Cons- The lack of baby gates for the deck was disappointing and the decor is tired, not nearly as fresh and modern as the photos. Pros- deck is wonderful, great view, and access to the river, though it would have been nice to know what that looked like in advance. We have 15 month old twins and had to carry them down in the bjorns in order to take them down to the river.

My family and I absolutely loved our time here. Despite daddy breaking two wine glasses and setting off the smoke and house alarm cooking bacon, my 21 month old twin boys loved staring at the trees through the floor-to-ceiling windows and running back and forth down the hall. Sarah, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. We will absolutely come back.

We loved staying at Riverside Drive Residence in Guerneville. The house is absolutely stunning and in the most beautiful location overlooking the Russian River. We adored the big windows and all the natural light, and especially enjoyed the giant deck for meals and catching some rays all day. Sarah's house is very well equipped with everything you need for a nice stay. We had a great time cooking a few meals in. The beds were also very comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great! Having Guerneville as our vacation HQ was also a delight. It's a super-cute town, and we loved its proximity to the coast, as well as a bunch of great wineries in Healdsburg. It was also very easy to get to from SF. Overall, we couldn't have loved staying here more. Sarah was wonderful to work with. Thanks for having us! We hope to return someday soon.

Russian River, Sonoma

Redwoods, vineyards and river beaches

In northern California, close to Sonoma’s beaches and famed for its wineries, Russian River is a fantastic spot for an active family break. Hike in the forest on the Armstrong Redwoods trail to discover trees over 1,400 years old; play in the river at Johnson’s Beach where the shallow water is perfect for younger kids, or take a trip to the Sonoma Coast state park to go whale watching or play on ocean beaches.
