Perks for the Parents

This charming Sag Harbor home with a pool includes a fantastic basement with games room and a half acre garden, and is walking distance to a bay beach. Designed with exposed beams and beautiful floors, it is set on 0.5 acre and is walking distance to town for shopping and dining, bay beaches and marinas. With a gourmet kitchen, formal living room and screened in porch there is space for 1-2 families traveling together. Mature landscaping and a heated in ground pool complete the luxury rental.

Why Kids Love it

Ideally set up for families, the house includes a beautiful, grassy half acre private yard - very flat and useable for sports and other games. The bay beach is a short walk away, and is very kid friendly - the water is calm and there is a swing set built into the sand. Great toys including a soccer net for the yard and a Melissa and Doug art easel set for the screened in patio are available. The basement is a kids dream, loaded with toys and an air hockey table in safe kid-friendly play areas. The house comes with a few bikes as well.

Things to Know

During the Summer season (June/Memorial Day through August/Labor Day), the minimum stay is 1 month. In September, the minimum stay is 4 nights, and for the rest of the year, the minimum stay is 3 nights. There are child safety gates at the stairs and a child-proof fence around the pool. It can be reached by Jitney; car rental is useful but not essential in this location.

About the Location

The house is perfectly located in Sag Harbor, a short walk to the beach or village. Sag Harbor has one of the best and most vibrant villages in the Hamptons. It is also centrally located within the Hamptons, a short car ride from Bridgehampton, Shelter Island, Southampton, Montauk and the other amazing things the Hamptons have to offer. It is around 2.5 hours’ drive from New York City.

Accommodation Details

This 2800 sq ft home includes 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It has a gourmet kitchen, formal living room with fireplace and a screened in porch leading to the side yard and fenced and heated in-ground pool. The main floor also includes a family room with a television. Three bedrooms are upstairs and include 2 with queensize beds and 1 room with a fullsize bed. The basement includes the fourth bedroom, with 2 fullsize beds, plus an air hockey table and second television area. There is a large yard for activities.

Style Notes

Classic Hamptons. This beautiful home has a cottage or beach feel, with a modern and luxurious twist. Guests love the screened in porch and spend much of their time there for dinner/drinks. Although the house was built in the mid-90s, it has great character. We love the basement games room, with ice hockey decorations around the air hockey table, the screened in porch for views of the garden, and the cute cottage feel throughout with the painted wooden table in the kitchen and storm lantern decorations.

Sag Harbor, The Hamptons

Sailboats, shopping and the sea

It’s hard to believe this quaintly charming village was once an international port, but Sag Harbor’s whaling history put it firmly on the map as a commercial center. These days, you can get a taste of what life was like at the Whaling Museum, or walk the historic lanes around Main Street dotted with galleries, independent boutiques and 18th century captains’ homes, before strolling past the sailboats in the harbor itself.
