A cozy family home just outside Saint-Briac-sur-Mer in France, with a heated swimming pool and heaps of country house charm. It sleeps 14 + 2. This is an easy vacation home for parents, with the primary suite close to the kids room for relaxed bedtimes, and a safe enclosed garden where you can see the kids playing at all times. There’s also plenty of space for grandparents, nannies or 2 families traveling together, as well as 2 living spaces on the ground floor so everyone has their own space to relax. It’s an easy walk into the center of town for eating out (if you ever tire of the beautiful farmhouse dining table), visiting local stores or spending your days at the beach.

There’s also plenty of toys, games and books for children of all ages. The kids will love the pool on hot summer days, playing with the inflatable toys and pool games and their kids-only bedroom is cozy and welcoming for siblings or friends. For days out, take the family to the nearby beach where you can build sand castles or paddle with little ones, and older kids and teens can try sand yachting and kayaking.

The private parking spot available with the property is safely separated from the garden by a closed door. The pool is safely closed by a roller shutter cover. About the Location

The house is located just outside Saint-Briac-sur-Mer in northern France. The town is 15 minutes’ walk (or 5 minutes’ drive) and offers shops, supermarkets, bakeries and beaches. This part of France is steeped in history, with memorials and structures on the beaches that remain from World War II. The larger town of Saint Malo (20 minutes’ drive) has lots on offer for tourists, including more beaches, a mini zoo and an aquarium. It’s around 4 hours from Paris, 2 hours from Nantes or 1 hour from Rennes. There is a train station at Saint Malo for access to Paris, Lille, Strasbourg and Lyon via Rennes. You can also catch the ferry from Saint Malo to the Channel Islands or to the UK. The closest airport is Rennes-Saint-Jacques for international flights (1 hour away) or Dinard-Pleurtuit (15 minutes’ drive).

Accommodation Details

This home has 6 king bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. On the ground floor, there’s a large living room and a spacious kitchen which opens onto the dining room. This floor also has a private king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (with bathtub and shower). On the other side of the house, there’s another living area overlooking the large sunny terrace. There are 5 more bedrooms on the first and second floors, including: a king suite with a single sofa bed, a room with a king bed and a set of bunk beds, and 3 further king size rooms. All rooms with king beds can also be set up as doubles with 2 singles. There is a spacious family bathroom with a shower and bathtub. The hosts also have 2 travel cribs available.

Style Notes

Rustic charm. The house has traditional gray wooden shutters and Breton granite, which is typical of the region, as well as wooden paneled walls to add a beachy feel. There’s a real sense of ‘country house’ spirit, where each guest room has its own style and there’s plenty of eclectic pieces to create a charming, welcoming and quirky space. A large majority of the pieces in the house are antiques or objects collected over time, to give to the place a soul and the lived-in charm of a family house. We love the stylish modern kitchen with a contemporary island, the pretty scalloped bathroom tiles and the rustic textured light fixture hanging over the dining table.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
