Perks for the Parents

A quirky and compact apartment in the heart of Saint-Germain, Paris - just steps from the sights of the city. It sleeps 3. Parents will love wandering around the nearby Luxembourg gardens, where there are tennis courts, botanical gardens, an outdoor gym and an art museum (not to mention plenty of fun activity areas for kids!). It’s also within easy reach of the Panthéon, the Louvre and the Notre-Dame Cathedral, for parents who are keen to explore the sights.

Why Kids Love it

While there are no toys or games for kids, it’s just a short walk from Luxembourg Gardens, which has a playground, sailing boats, an old-fashioned carousel and a puppet theater! This is a great central area to visit the sights of the city, with many big attractions within easy reach. Older kids and teens will love the famous Louvre art gallery, while kids of all ages can have fun at the children’s Herbe Art Museum on the other side of the river.

Things to Know

No smoking, pets or parties. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which you are required to sign and submit. Car rental is not necessary in this area as it’s close to subway stations and public transport is fast and efficient.

About the Location

Saint Germain Blvd is a bustling street filled with boutiques, restaurants, bars and cinemas. The nearest subway stations are Odéon, Mabillon and Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The international airport is around 45 minutes away, via train from Saint-Michel Notre-Dame station.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. You enter the apartment directly into the open-plan kitchen and living room, fitted with 2 armchairs, a small table and a large island with stools. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine, an oven and a washing machine. Bedroom 1 is on the mezzanine floor, looking over the living area (with a queensize bed). Bedroom 2 is next to the living room (with a single bed plus ensuite bathroom and walk-in shower).

Style Notes

Quicky duplex. An usual mix of industrial styling with antique pieces creates an eclectic interior at this compact Paris apartment. The living space is decorated with statement pieces of furniture and artwork, while the mezzanine stairs looks chunky and rustic, finished with a contemporary glass panel. We love the dramatic chest of drawers which doubles as a kitchen island, the makeshift bookshelves created from high-up shelves and the beautiful mahogany furniture.

Saint-Germain-des-Pres, The 6th arrondissement

Cobbled streets and art dealers

This center of classic Paris, one of the classiest areas of the Rive Gauche, is all cobbled streets, art dealers and historic jazz cafes. The Luxembourg Gardens, complete with playgrounds, a boating pond and jazz on summer weekends, is a great stop with kids, as are the area's many museums, including the Musee d'Orsay and the Musee Rodin a short walk away. Family concept store Smallable, on Rue du Cherche Midi, is one not to miss.
