Perks for the Parents

This pretty village house in the historic center of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is just minutes away from markets, restaurants and boulangeries. It sleeps 8. This is well set up for families looking for a highly walkable stay in the South of France. Parents will love the charming shaded terrace with table and chairs, ready for relaxing family meals, which faces the 5 x 2.5 swimming pool (a rarity in the heart of the village). Spend your days exploring the regional produce markets and visiting historic Provencal towns, before returning home for a dip in the pool and a glass of local Rosé in the backyard.

Why Kids Love it

Kids can splash around in the pool all day long, or visit the nearby village - Saint-Rémy is a great village for families, with kid-friendly eateries, a small playground and an ice cream parlor. Further afield, it’s 15 minutes’ drive to L’Arche de Meo animal park. This region has plenty of routes for hiking, climbing, canoeing, cycling and horse riding, so it’s great for families who love the outdoors. Parents with babies or toddlers can hire a high chair, crib or bed linen on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. Bookings in July and August run from Saturday to Saturday. City tax is not included and to be paid on arrival: (approximately 5.76€pppn). Safety notes: the pool is not gated. The property is managed by an agency in France who act as a concierge during your stay: they can advise places to go, local restaurants to try, shopping deliveries, at-home treatments, arrange housekeeping, babysitting, chef services, excursions or equipment rental. Sorry - no pets.

About the Location

The house is located in the heart of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. There are countless restaurants and shops within walking distance, plus a charming little village square right across the street and a larger playground on the other side of the village (10 minutes’ walk). The village boasts a modern art museum, weekly food markets, nearby tennis clubs and skate parks. There is space for 1 car - car rental is not essential to get around the village but if you plan to explore the area it’s the best way to get around in rural Provence. Avignon airport is 20 minutes’ drive; Montpellier and Marseille airports are just over 1 hour away.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 3 levels and 180 m². There’s a fully equipped kitchen and dining/living room with a fireplace, which opens onto the terrace. Three of the bedrooms have queensize beds, and the final bedroom has 2 single beds - ideal for kids. There are 2 full bathrooms and 2 shower rooms and the property has air conditioning.

Style Notes

Contemporary Provencal. The house has been decorated with a mix of classic French style and more modern styling. Muted gray and beige hues creates a relaxing, understated feel while exposed beams and traditional tiled floors add to the historical charm. We love the classic wooden window shutters, the stunning headboard wall in the primary bedroom and the beautiful wisteria climbing the walls.

Artists, sunshine and good living

Twelve miles south of Avignon, this beautiful Provençal village embodies all that is great about the area; art, good living and sunshine. Vincent Van Gogh lived here for a time; it’s also the birthplace of Nostradamus. Explore the Roman ruins nearby after browsing chocolate shops and playing in rivers beside flower-filled meadows.
