Perks for the Parents

This family villa in Ste Maxime has panoramic views of the gulf, a large pool and garden, plus private beach access for stunning Tropezian sunsets. Beach towels are provided for guests. It is a 10-minute boat ride from St. Tropez. Lounge on the terrace, shaded by olive trees, read a book in a quiet corner of the balcony, and ride into St. Tropez to explore the Provencal markets and charming old port, lined by pastel houses and lively cafes.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love to splash and play in the large, private pool, picnic in the green garden, or walk to the community pool for tennis lessons or table tennis matches. Access the private beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas or jump from the jetty. Visit the Butterfly Museum for a change of pace from sunbathing, sightseeing and shopping. The colorful weekly market is fun for souvenirs and there are watersports on offer nearby. A handful of pool toys and children's books are provided.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 days. Note that this is a 40-year-old family house and has the quirks of an older house. There is a set of ungated stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms. Upstairs bedrooms have French windows that can open with protective bars for safety. The pool is closed with a iron garden door and has an alarm system. The community is gated and there is private parking in front of the house. Note that the kitchen is compact with older cupboards and that the lounge is very small.

About the Location

The residence is at the end of a residential street in Sainte Maxime, a charming town on Saint Tropez Bay. It is in a gated community with access to a private beach, restaurant, 3 tennis courts, a communal pool with cafe, and a playground for children. A 10-minute boat ride takes you into St. Tropez itself. The property is 1.5 hours by car to the Nice Airport. Car rental is recommended.

Accommodation Details

The 3-bedroom villa has a kitchen, compact living room with sofa bed plus a dining area downstairs, along with 1 bedroom with full bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 with 2 twin beds and 1 with a queen bed. There is a shared bathroom with bathtub and balcony upstairs. The living room opens to a large terrace with outdoor dining table, back garden and private pool surrounded by terrace, loungers and grass.

Style Notes

Breezy and relaxed, this Mediterranean villa has the most incredible backdrop with panorama views of the gulf, private beach access for stunning Tropezian sunsets, and a lush back garden, large swimming pool and expansive terrace for lounging in complete tranquility. The host has been visiting the property since she was a child; it still retains the same feel. We love its small but charming nature and the excellent amenities for an unpretentious family stay.

We are a family of five, from Paris, from where we drive off to explore France and beyond. We try to find the hidden places, and sometimes we are lucky and get to spend a perfect day eating local foods, wandering around the streets of little villages and the children haven't complained once!! Just sometimes!

Saint-Tropez, French Riviera

Millionaire moorings, moules and magic

Set on France’s sublime southwest coast, between Toulon and Cannes lies the sizzling jetset town of St-Tropez, known for its celebs, yachts, and links to that irresistible 60s icon Brigitte Bardot. Meander cobbled lanes in the old fishing quarter, walk the coastal paths and beaches, watch old men play pétanque and marvel at the quaint beauty. Kids will adore counting the mega-yachts, spending their pocket money in the sweet shop in the main harbor and swimming off Pampelonne beach. Further afield is Aqualand, with water slides for all ages and a kiddy pool for youngsters.
