1950s American Cape. This classic 50s home has cedar shingle on the outside with a bright blue door and is full of beach cottage style. The interior is bright, light, airy, clean and sophisticated, with painted hardwood floors and Jonathan Adler furnishings. The porch has classic wicker furniture and a hanging swing, ideal for lazy afternoons and entertaining, and the house is surrounded by glorious hydrangeas in summer. We love the easy living beach house style, the pretty beds in the twin bedroom, and the toys provided to help kids quickly feel at home.

My husband and I have adopted 2 boys from China in the span of the last three years. Oh how life has changed. Yikes. Eamon is now five and Tom just turned two. They are wonders, miracles and amaze us every day. Not to say they aren't a handful, but still...We live in the heart of NYC on the Upper East Side, minutes from Central Park and the finest museums in the world. Our house on Shelter Island is our escape and we visit it most weekends and for chunks of time whenever we can. We own a beer mecca of sorts on Manhattan's Lower East Side, Top Hops Beer Shop. When not at Top Hops, in the city or on Shelter, we're daydreaming of travel. We're fortunate to have travelled extensively in Europe and return regularly to Ireland, France and Italy. Life is short and our list remains long. I bought our home 15 years ago with my three sisters with whom I continue to own the house. A true family purchase, the house has changed all of our lives in countless ways. We joined Kid & Coe as we know like minded families will love Shelter Island as we do and appreciate it's unique qualities. Income from rentals helps us to maintain and improve our lovely home.
