This modern, new build one-storey residence is a short walk from the beach and sleeps up to 8 + 1. It’s a contemporary take on the beach cottage with high end fixtures and fittings including a smart TV and top of the line appliances. Best of all, it’s just three houses from Fletcher Cove, with a playground, basketball court, tide pools and a beach which is the setting for spectacular sunsets and a summer concert series. San Diego is under an hour away down the coast. We love the simple luxurious style, the main open plan living space where you can cook dinner and relax together, and the easy location for a family vacation.

I did a huge amount of research on places to stay with my husband and two young sons when I was planning our first trip to San Diego together, and every minute I spent was so well worth it in finding this incredible gem of a home to stay. Our four-night stay was absolutely perfect - the location was ideal for our family to walk to the beach which was my number one criteria - it is literally around the corner - as well as to the charming playground at Fletcher Cove. My boys are 3 and 5, and the home was both incredibly chic as well as family friendly. We utilized all of the wonderful sand toys, beach chairs, and even the jacuzzi in the backyard. The home was impeccably clean and downtown Solana Beach was just a five minute walk away. We loved the entire mellow vibe of the beach as well as the town and nearby restaurants. The hosts were very much in touch with us during our stay in case we had any issues arise (which we didn't). Driving everywhere from there was also super easy - we did a day at Legoland and it was only an easy 20 minutes away. I can only hope our schedule allows us to return again, and often.

We stayed at the N. Sierra residence for a second time and loved it. So convenient to everything we wanted to do and see and a perfect place to spread out and enjoy downtime with our three littles. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back again.

This was our first time using Kid & Coe and we had a great experience at the N. Sierra Avenue Residence. We were looking for a beach vacation with our 13 month old and this proved to be just about the perfect choice. The location, I believe, is understated in the listing as it is SO CLOSE to the cutest little beach spot. We would walk one block to grab a coffee and then turn the corner and there was the ocean. The area had everything we needed regarding food, beverage, shopping etc. The only downfalls of the house from our perspective (especially with a one year old) is that there were no rugs anywhere and the house is very 'stone' like, especially the floors, so it was very, very noisy. The other negative which might be specific to us and our son's sleep habits is how bright every single bedroom was with no light blocking shades. I ended up having to tape black garbage bags over the windows to get any semblance of darkness for both naps and bedtime. Overall all however the house was beautiful, well decorated and equipped. We will definitely try to stay here again if we head back to Solana Beach next year!

This property is in a remarkable location, a few minutes from the gorgeous beach at Solana Beach. Downtown San Diego is a 30 minute drive away. Even though we were there over Christmas we spent many happy hours on the beach and it would be hard to find somewhere better for that (though some Christmas decorations would have been nice!). The house also has a lovely garden where the kids can play when you are in. Communication with the hosts before and during the stay was very good, though we never did find any house or area information in the property but worked things out for ourselves as everything was pretty self-explanatory. The decor is great for a beach house, with good heating/cooling system depending on your needs - bath and showers were lovely. This is a pretty premium priced property if you are travelling as one family and there are a few things that could do with updating given that (very scruffy sofa/chairs were something of a surprise and a number of missing smoke alarms with holes left in the ceiling) but the positives of the house, and the location in particular, dramatically outweigh any slight quibbles.

We were pleasantly surprised at how close we were to the nearby playground and beach with easy access to local shops and restaurants. The Naked Cafe was a favourite during our stay. There were an abundance of sand toys for our three year old to play with and she enjoyed playing with them at the beach and in the pretty back yard. All the amenities that we could have wished for were available: kitchen supplies, outdoor grill, towels, TV etc. We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house and the location of Solana Beach was perfect for our short getaway. I would highly recommend this property to anyone considering staying in this pretty part of Southern California.

The house was perfect! The location was great; you could walk everywhere, clean, etc. Our kids very favorite thing to do nearby was Feather Acres Farms. It was located a few minutes from the house and offers 30 minute pony rides along with guinea pigs and bunnies to pet and many farm animals to feed.
