This home is perfect for a family and includes a fully equipped kitchen, large open spaces in the living room, master bedroom, and an enclosed backyard to play in. The second bathroom has a tub for bathing little ones and there is a piano and many other instruments to enjoy. If you are in need of a Spa, the Sonoma Mission Inn is within walking distance.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and musical instruments to enjoy, plus a macrame toddler swing hanging from a tree in the front yard, and an indoor hanging chair (supervision recommended of course!) that appeals to kids of all ages. The property is a short walk to the park or to the local farm-to-table Mexican restaurant El Molino Central, which is also kid-friendly. High chair, crib, toddler bed, baby bath, and bikes with a baby seat are provided upon request. Traintown is less than 10 minutes away and very popular with the younger children.

Minimum stay: 3 days. The house is 1 story in a very safe and quiet neighborhood with a driveway that can fit 4 cars. There is also plenty of street parking available. During the summer the weather can be warm at times; there are fans but no AC; the temperature always cools down in the evening.

About the Location

This home is in a family-friendly neighborhood just 5 minutes away from the Central Historic Square in Sonoma. Also close to the numerous parks, lakes and wineries along Hwy 12, this popular drive through the valley is a must with many antique shops and farm stands nestled between the vineyards. The residence is 1.5 hours from SFO airport and 30 minutes away from the Santa Rosa airport.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 1-story home in wine country has a large backyard. The living, dining and kitchen have a spacious open floor plan. There is 1 large master bedroom with a kingsize bed and bath with a sliding glass door that leads to a redwood deck. The other 2 rooms are an office/ guest room with double sofa bed, and a child's room suitable for all ages with fullsize bed (crib available). There are 2 Redwood trees on the property, a veggie garden, a macrame baby swing and a hammock in the backyard.

Style Notes

Bright, airy, artistic and bohemian. This home is an eclectically curated space with a variety of pieces collected from around the world. Colorful fabrics from India and Central America contrast against the simple white walls, the light hardwood floors reflect lots of light into the home, and the granite kitchen counters make food prep a pleasure. Lived in by a musician and a photographer, there is no shortage of musical instruments or inspiring imagery adorning the walls. We love the swing in the lounge, the hammock in the backyard and the unique, eye-catching art throughout.

That house is really cute and conveniently located. Very homey and kid friendly. Our only complaint is there is a barking dog and also loud roosters in the next-door neighbors home which can be quite loud notably and in particular in the very early morning hours approximately 4:45/5 Am each day for a short while —oh my!! Otherwise no complaints. Thanks for being such a great host Lindsay.

Sonoma, California

Wine, whales and water fun

Sonoma is not just a world-class wine area, but also includes Pacific Ocean beaches with migratory whales, magnificent Redwood forests and the mighty Russian River. Take time to do a little planning so that wine country doesn’t become whine country: there are plenty of family-friendly vineyards if you know where to look. Start with Francis Ford Coppola’s Geyserville winery, which has a pool, live music in summer and gorgeous grounds. The Sonoma area also includes the fantastic Russian River area, the prime setting for river rafting, tubing and splashing about on river beaches in the summer and autumn months.
