Perks for the Parents

From the pastel pink walls of the lounge to the mixed up vintage chairs round the dining table and the graphic print wallpaper, this designer apartment is a true one-off. It is well-set up for a family stay, with a fully stocked kitchen, a library of children's books, and a claw-footed bath tub, among other delights. A crib can be easily set up in the small office, adjacent to the master bedroom.

Why Kids Love it

The flat is perfect for all ages. The residence has plenty of toys and books for kids under 10 and is a great family space. It is a short walk from local playgrounds, and is practically upstairs from one of the best boulangeries in Paris. The Luxembourg Gardens and its puppet theatre, sailboats, 100-year-old carousel and playground are a block away. A crib and high chair can be provided on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 days. The apartment is safe and secure on the third floor (second floor in France) and has elevator access. Daily housekeeping and/or babysitting can be arranged for a fee of €15 per hour. Note that there is no TV; there is WiFi and a washer-dryer. There are some wide marble stairs and no stair gate. Car rental not necessary with good public transit links nearby.

About the Location

The residence is on a corner that looks up the rue de Tournon to the French Senate, in the heart of the St Germain area in the 7th arrondissement. It is a block from the Luxembourg Gardens and is a 2-5 minute walk from the Boulevard St Germain, the St Sulpice church, the art galleries of rue de Seine, and the Seine. Charles de Gaulle Airport is 50 minutes by car/taxi; Eurostar is around 30 minutes away.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom apartment has a living room with sofa and chairs, full kitchen with eat-in dining table seating up to 7, and a small study area with desk. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with queensize beds and 1 with 2 twin beds. The 3 bathrooms all have a shower. The residence has no outdoor space but is close to parks and playgrounds.

Style Notes

Classic and contemporary. With bright colors and bold graphics that stand in contrast to the 14-foot ceilings, marble chimneys, and Versailles parquet floors of this 18th century flat, there is plenty to admire. The apartment featured in an 8-page spread in 'Schoner Wohnen', Germany's leading interior design magazine. It has recently been renovated by its French/American owners.

The Saint Sulpice apartment is incredibly stylish and it’s obvious a tremendous amount of care from a talented designer went into every detail. Almost as equally impressive is the location in Paris’ elegant 6th Arrondissement. It’s close to the Luxembourg Gardens, metro, great restaurants etc etc. We would highly recommend this apartment!

The 6th arrondissement, Paris

Sail boats, boutiques and a charming atmosphere

Considered one of ‘the’ quintessential Parisian neighborhoods, the 6th arrondissement includes the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, famed cafés and streets once walked by artists and writers. For a taste of local life, visit the Musée de Cluny, explore the side streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and sail boats on the octagonal pond at the Luxembourg Gardens.
