Style Notes

Inspired by the vintage Art Deco style, a Paris-based interior designer has filled this space with old-school glamour. Romantic drapery, picture windows, and a wall of elegant hand mirrors give this apartment a dash of Hollywood flair. We love the three plush bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, which will make you feel right at home.

The positives: the apartment was decently-sized (by European standards). The three bedrooms all had a wardrobe for clothing, though these were also used for extra linens. There were two showers rooms and a single toilet room which worked well for my teenage girls. The appliances were small but adequate as we didn’t use anything except the fridge for leftovers. The couch turned put to be a pull put bed which was also helpful when the toddler snuggled me right off the bed. The windows opened: this might be a safety concern for some but just provided ample people watching for us. The negatives: the biggest negative was the noise. There was a bar a few doors down whose patrons seemed inclined to get into yelling fights between 0100-0300. The apartment was also located across the street from Monoprix which received loud, large deliveries at 0600 every other day. Aside from noise concerns, there were four separate doors, with unique codes, to get to the apartment. The third door lead from the stairwell to a mini-hallway with two apartment doors. One morning we encountered a gentleman asleep in this hallway (I believe he was accidentally locked out by his companions next door but it startled my teen). There were a couple of maintenance things: the plate for the toilet flusher was on the floor when we arrived and there were some stains on the couch but nothing major. In all, the location was extremely walkable and easy to catch the metro. I would probably look for someplace a little nicer (quieter) for a future trip.
