Perks for the Parents

This Marais apartment is full of vintage charm and children’s items, and is a 5-minute walk from the Pompidou Centre. With a separate and well-equipped kitchen, a bright living space and a bathroom with bathtub, it’s an easy place to stay as a family and pretend that you live in the city of light yourselves. The Seine is a 10-minute walk away and there is a playground nearby as well.

Why Kids Love it

The children's room has plenty of toys and is set up with 70 x 190 cm single beds, plus a futon mattress on request if needed. There is also a small double sofa (160 x 200cm) in the living room and a travel crib, so all ages can be accommodated. The local (and very nice) playground is a short walk from the apartment. The neighborhood has a good number of family-friendly restaurants that the hosts can recommend.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The apartment is only available for weekends (Friday-Monday) or during vacation periods. The apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator. It is safe for young children with window safety items, but note that there is access to a mezzanine level with limited barriers at the top and a ladder up. It is not suitable for young children - they need to be watched at all times. The ladder can be blocked with a chair. Stairs are not gated. Car rental not recommended due to restricted parking in the area and reliable public transit available throughout the city. You can easily walk to the Pompidou Centre, Latin Quarter on the left bank, Place des Vosges, Picasso museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and more.

Accommodation Details

This charming top floor duplex, approximately 970 sq.ft, has a main double height great room with an eating area, living space and fully equipped kitchen on the main floor. Accessed via a wooden ladder, there is a mezzanine above the living space where some books and toys are stored. There is a master bedroom upstairs with queensize bed and a working desk, and a children's bedroom with 2 single beds. The bathroom includes a tub.

Style Notes

Quirky Paris. This apartment is in a private mansion dating from the 18th century, l'Hôtel de Belize, in Le Marais. It has a warm style, with a wooden floor and wood beams, plus slanted ceilings. The furniture is a mix of old and modern; the seating area is cozy and the double height living space make it airy and spacious. The scenic views over the roofs of Paris and the Pompidou Center Modern are a real plus.

I'm a TV director. I am a real Parisian, born in my beloved city that I never left. My two sons, twins, are 10 years old. I like to travel with them, in France or abroad. They are lucky enough to have traveled to Canada, California, Morocco, Italy, Greece... I did not travel much as a child so I try to catch up ! I like to be staying in apartments or manned houses. I find it warm and convenient (especially for children who can enjoy the toys of the hosts). In this way you feel at home!

The Marais, The 4th arrondissement

Bohemian and bourgeois

This historic district of Paris is a honeypot for the bobo generation - bohemian and bourgeois - with narrow streets, elegant buildings and bustling boutiques. It’s a fabulous place to stay in the city with kids, near to museums and galleries along with playgrounds and public squares.
