Perks for the Parents

This 2-bedroom design-led apartment in the desirable Trinity-Bellwoods area includes floor space to play and great parks within a short walk. To make a stay easy with kids, there is a full kitchen and a 24-hour grocery store only 2 blocks away. The location is great for getting around the city with a wide variety of public transportation right outside your door to almost any part of the city. It is also on a popular corner for picking up a taxi.

Why Kids Love it

The neighborhood is vibrant and family-orientated - there are a lot of wonderful art spaces and activities for them to do, including great parks within a short walk and a regular farmer’s market. The residence has plenty of floor space for playing and has a double bedroom plus crib (and plenty of space) for kids. Some children's books are provided; the host may be able to help with rental of baby items on request, or bring them with you.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 day. The apartment is on the second floor of an apartment building with no elevator and is one of only 4 units in the apartment (the owner lives in 1 of the other 3 units). There is free street parking right outside on weekends as well as weekdays, but you would need to move the car during morning rush hour (7-9am) to a side street or paid lot nearby. Both the building and neighbourhood are incredibly safe and among the more desirable places to be in the city. Note that there are some breakables and a glass-topped coffee table - young children might need extra supervision.

About the Location

The apartment is in the Trinity-Bellwoods area of Toronto, one of the city’s prime locations, popular with families and with a lovely neighborhood feel. There are plenty of parks nearby and the apartment is walking distance from great shopping (Ossington strip and Queen West) as well as fantastic restaurants and a 24-hour grocery store. It is also a low-rise neighbourhood. The waterfront can be reached in 10 minutes by car and Toronto Pearson International Airport is 30 minutes away. Car hire useful but not essential with great public transit options on your doorstep.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom second floor apartment has a kitchen and eating area open to a lounge area. The 2 spacious bedrooms both have queensize beds and desks, and a crib can be added to either bedroom. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower over it. There is no outdoor space but there are parks nearby.

Style Notes

Vintage/designer. The apartment was designed by the host and an well known interior designer in Toronto and includes vintage and designer furniture plus artwork from local photographers and artists. Beds and sheets are hand picked and the aesthetic is clean and modern. We love the wooden bedside table and the graphic print pillows and throws.

No family to speak of yet (just my goddaughter), though it's the number one thing I look forward to. In the meantime, I'm partial to all kinds of travel – from unique events and experiences around the world, to trails that are really hard to find. I joined Kid & Coe because my apartment is spacious, well curated, and in a great part of Toronto for families looking to explore Trinity Bellwoods. I also live right next door and would like to think I'm a pretty good host.

Trinity-Bellwoods, Toronto

hip and central

This hip and central neighborhood is in a great spot for family fun in the city. Start at Trinity Bellwoods Park, once a university college space and now a full time green space, playground and site for the regular Tuesday farmer’s market. Play spot the white squirrel or seek out the hidden bridge; there’s plenty to do in the park, including splashing about in a summer pool. Then visit nearby museums or take a bus to the waterfront for some big city buzz with a view of the water.
