Style Notes

Tuscan retreat. Dating to the 16th century, this ancient home has been brought up to date with the comforts of modern life, from central heating and air conditioning to WiFi and modern kitchen appliances. Thick walls keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter; classic terracotta flooring and brickwork arches add style and color. The style is classic, cozy and bright with some old pieces coming from the owners’ old family house. We love the countryside setting, the modern rustic decor, and the views from the pool.

Our family had a wonderful time at this villa! From the start, it was a great experience--communication leading up to our stay was very easy and responsive; Federica answered all of my questions, arranged for the first shopping to be completed before our arrival as well as scheduled a private chef. Upon our arrival, Federica's son, Lorenzo welcomed us to this beautiful property (side note re: Lorenzo, he is awesome--he went out of his way to get us olive oil, connect us with a local truffle hunter and most importantly, sent our son's lovey overnight to our next destination when we realized we left it!). The home itself is well equipped for children, has a/c in the bedrooms and a lockable gate around the pool. The views are expansive and it's centrally located which makes it a good base for exploring Tuscany. Highly recommend this villa!

Tuscany, Italy

Olive groves, vineyards and rolling hills

This region of central Italy is as picture-perfect as you’ve heard: all rolling countryside, cypress trees, hazy views and historic stone villages. For those too young to enjoy wine, olive oil and relaxing, there are water parks, child-friendly heritage sites and theme parks, meadows and woods to play in, and donkeys to befriend. Hire a car and explore the surrounding area, buy fresh pasta to cook at home later, or spend afternoons in vineyards deciding which variety of Chianti you like the best.
