Perks for the Parents

Built in the former sheepfold, this Tuscan apartment located on 500 hectares of organic working farm provides lovely family stays with instant access to nature. Find yourself surrounded by grazing farm animals, woods, swimming pool, swings and rocking horses. Families can cook an Italian meal with the chef, join a sourdough pizza and bread-making class, and much more. Washing machine, parking and barbecue are included.

Why Kids Love it

The open living spaces and central kitchen/living room are perfect for playing and spending time together. Kids love the farm property with instant access to nature, open air and walking in the woods. They can stay busy feeding the animals, collecting the eggs from the chicken coop, and fishing at the pond. Toys and games are provided, and a high chair, stair gates and baby bath, changing pad and baby cutlery are available. Babysitting/nanny service available upon request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights in low season, 3 nights in mid season, 7 nights in high season with check-in and check-out on Saturday. Tuscany has a tourist tax of €1/adult/night for a maximum of 6 nights, which will be payable on arrival. The farm is a lovely place to stay as a family, but children must be supervised, especially around non-fenced ponds, wild animals free on the property, stairs, ditches, etc. Fireplaces are in the main room of the house, and parents will need to supervise children while cooking. There is a stair between the kitchen and bathrooms and the bedrooms that can be closed by 2 iron gates. Pets are welcome. The house has no TV, and WiFi connection is available, but not strong enough to support streaming videos or video-games.

About the Location

The farm in the countryside 35 minutes south of San Miniato, and is an hour's drive from Firenze, Pisa, Livorno, and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Siena and Lucca. San Gimignano, Volterra and Certaldo are a 30-minute drive away. A dedicated guide book received at check in will help you get the most out of the area, with a page dedicated to activities with children. Pisa and Florence are the nearest airports. The farm is not connected by public transport, so guests must have/rent their own car.

Accommodation Details

This 2-level apartment includes a bright welcoming living and kitchen/dining space with fireplaces, table seating 4, and outdoor access. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (1 with queen bed and 1 with 2 twin beds), and a bathtub and shower. Style Notes

The apartment is part of a rustic Tuscan countryside home. It has exposed wooden beams, an old floor with red bricks, and a fire place in the kitchen. The furniture is mostly original from the 60's, restored with modern touches. The kitchen is equipped with high-quality appliances and tools. We love the forest views from the upstairs bedrooms and the welcoming open plan living/kitchen room.

My name is Guido, and the farm is my historical family retreat since last century. I live in Florence with my wife and my three children, and come at the farm twice a week. Ilaria and Francesco, my helpers at the farm, take care of the guests. I chose to join Kid & Coe because, as a father, I feel traveling is better if my children are happy. Our farm is one of the best places I can imagine to go and spend a funny holiday with children.

San Miniato, Tuscany

White truffles and a duck race

Renowned for its white truffles, the small town of San Miniato is set between Pisa and Florence and is full of beautiful streets. A lovely place to visit at all times of year, it is particularly special in October when a special duck race takes over the street, led by local children, and at Easter, when children fly homemade kites in a special family festival.
