Perks for the Parents

This comfortable 3-bedroom apartment is a 15-minute walk from S. Marco Square in a central but non-touristy part of Venice, with easy transport links on the doorstep and a playground right outside. Inside the only large green park in the city, the house is in front of the Vaporetto stop, with no bridges to cross, and is close to a supermarket open 8am-10pm. The combination of calm location, easy transportation and conveniences nearby makes this a real gem. Pharmacies, a fish and vegetable market, and a bakery are also close by. The hosts can provide anything you need for toddlers and young children.

Why Kids Love it

With no cars and plenty of boats and novelties to look at, Venice itself is a great spot for kids. Kids will particularly enjoy the playground in front of the house - which can be seen from the bedroom window so older kids may be able to play unattended. Inside the house, there is a special corner dedicated to them, with books and toys. If you are travelling with a toddler, the hosts will provide you with everything in order to make you feel comfortable and safe. The house is equipped with a changing table, baby bath, mixer, cradle and more. It’s easy to reach the beach at the Lido, one stop away by boat.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The house has been renovated in 2017 and although it is a building of the XIX century, you will feel in a modern and safe environment. Electrical, gas and water system have been installed according to European law requirements. Note that the bathroom is shower-only. A travel crib can be provided. Crossing bridges with strollers in Venice can be hard work; it’s advisable to pack a baby carrier as well if you are traveling with babies. The hosts can book an easy private transfer service from the airport. The property is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes from Venice Marco Polo airport.

About the Location

The apartment is in central Venice, inside the Giardini della Biennale and just a 15-minute walk from Piazza S. Marco (St Mark’s Square). The public boat can take you to S. Marco in 5 minutes. The Giardini Boat Stop is in front of the house, offering an easy way to explore the city with no bridges to cross and no long walks with your luggage. It is 1 minute from the Vaporetto stop. From the airport you can take the public transportation (Alilaguna, blue line) to Arsenale and walk 10 minutes or take another boat and make one stop to Giardini.

Accommodation Details

This apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and an open plan living space with kitchen and dining area. There is a bathroom with a shower; a baby bath is available. Bedrooms all have kingsize beds and there is a double sofa bed in the living space.

Style Notes

Light and welcoming. This pretty apartment has white walls and simple decor, with an Oriental rug in the living room, a tiled bathroom with large shower head, wooden floors and large mirrors. We love the view through the bedroom window of green trees, the exposed wood beams and the simple muted color scheme throughout.

My name is Caterina, Im Italian and I lived abroad for many years before deciding to come back to Italy and have a family. I know how difficult can be to travel with young kids, I will do my best to make your staying in Venice comfortable and enjoyable. I will provide you with my suggestions about things to do and everything your family might need to be happy in the house!

Venice, Italy

Gondolas and gelato

There’s no question about it: kids will love Venice, the city with canals for roads, gondolas and vaporetti instead of cars and buses, and enough exquisite gelato to keep them going all day. Take kid-friendly tours of art galleries, chase pigeons in St Mark’s Square and take leisurely bike rides along the Lido and its beaches, before refuelling with pizza, pasta and cicchetti.

Such a great place to stay in Venice! The apartment is lovely and the neighborhood is a beautiful, quiet escape from the busier center of the city. Caterina was a wonderful host and so helpful to us. We are so grateful and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I think my husband said it best, on our first evening at the Mongolfiere Residence: "This apartment alone proves the value of a Kid and Coe stay." Anyone who's travelled with kids knows how magical it is to arrive in a foreign place, especially one as potentially daunting as Venice in high tourist season, and feel personally welcomed into a little oasis of family-friendly quiet and calm. This is just what you get at Caterina's gorgeous, spacious, light-filled, thoughtfully appointed, serene, and superbly located apartment. This was my fourth trip to Venice and I've never experienced it to be as wonderful -- precisly because we had such a perfect home base from which to explore it. We arrived a few hours ahead of schedule yet Catarina ensured we had access to the property immediately. Once we'd settled in, we realized we were in the most incredible location: quiet, leafy, opening on to a park and the water just beyond. But still just two vaporetto stops or one breathtaking, waterside walk from the center of it all at San Marco. Quick boat trips to the Lido, S. Giorgio, up and down the Grand Canal were inexpensive, easy and unforgettable thanks to the vaporetto stop right outside the door. Our kids will probably remember Venice as one of the best experiences of their lives thanks to the mix of exploring on foot and boat that this apartment affords. To have the whole of Venice -- and then our own private retreat high above it all --is what made it so special. The apartment itself is perfectly appointed. The efficient kitchen allowed us to make breakfasts and even a simple pasta supper at home when we needed to. The selection of toys and books enchanted our kids and ourselves, as we could refresh while the kids played happily. On top of all this, the last place I ever expected to be able to log a morning run was Venice, and yet we had a spectacular running route right outside the apartment door. Add to this Caterina's exceptionally attentive and thoughtful responses to all our inquiries and requests, you have the most perfect accommodation in Venice imaginable. We will be forever grateful to Caterina and her family for giving us some of the happiest memories of our family life!

We travel a lot with our children and this was the BEST experience we've ever had with a rental and host. Caterina was so helpful from planning our journey to get to the apartment, to suggestions on an itinerary, to helping us find the best places to eat with kids. The space was clean and had everything we could have ever needed for the kids. We loved having toys to play with and a bright, beautiful spot to rest in between exploring Venice. This is the BEST location in Venice with kids. We were there in the height of summer tourism and in this neighborhood there were no crowds or tourists. It was quiet and relaxing. There is a playground steps from the apartment that was wonderful! Also, right out the front door is a large open square to run in. Then, there is a Vaparetto spot steps away to get anywhere you could need. We hopped on to go to Burano one morning. PLUS if you have a stroller, this apartment is perfect because there is plenty of space to walk to without crossing a bridge and to walk to St Marks you can walk along the water and the bridges have ramps. I can't recommend this apartment enough! We loved it!

This apartment has a lovely spot in Venice. Far enough away from the crowds to give you some space to breathe but close enough to walk to all of the main sights in 15-20 minutes. The apartment was very clean and tidy and had everything that we needed to self cater. Catterina was extremely helpful at organising activities for us to do in Venice (booking taxis, museum tours etc.) and we are grateful for all of our help in making our trip to Italy a memorable one.
