There is a private wine cellar ideal for rounds of poker when the kids are in bed. The kitchens are fully equipped and have beautiful crockery. The set up with a guest house and main house is ideal for a larger family group or multiple families traveling together. The patio has views of the lawn so the kids can play while you enjoy a glass of wine. Woodstock, Vermont is close by for an evening out and has great family restaurants and fine dining. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and there are 2 indoor saunas for the winter months.

Why Kids Love it

There is so much to excite kids at the property, there’s no need to leave! The 3 ponds are great for salamander hunting in summer and skating in the winter, there is a campfire up at the gazebo ideal for s’more making and there is a great collection of games and kids books in both houses. Add to that playrooms, the pool, hot tubs and badminton, ping pong, croquet and foosball and you won’t hear any complaints. For kids over 5 there are river rentals down the road for tubing and kayaking and there is a great ice creamery - Sandy’s - at the bottom of the road too. The main house has a nursery with a crib, change table, rocking chair, high chair and more on request, including babysitters.

Things to Know

Rates vary depending on the season. Note that the stairs are not gated in the house and neither are the hot tubs, but they do have covers. Small children may need to be supervised in the gardens where there are ponds. There is an elevated deck off the kitchen in the main house, but it has a guard rail. Both homes have wood-burning fires and there is one in the master bedroom also. Sonos music, Apple TV and WiFi is provided throughout. The maximum number of guests is 14 (8 in the main house and 6 in the guest house). Additional guests will be considered upon request, subject to an additional fee.

Style Notes

Contemporary, clean and bright. Decorated primarily in neutrals and grays, there is plenty of light and some very high ceilings throughout, making it grand, beautiful and inspiring. The nursery has playful kids prints courtesy of Sharon Montrose, and the games room has a sophisticated gray felt on the pool table. Technology is high end throughout and the kitchens are beautifully appointed. We love the luxurious hot tubs, the countryside views and the cozy lounge spaces. Beyond the stunning house, the views cannot be beaten.

Vermont, United States

Mountains, moose and maple syrup

It might be famous as America’s biggest producer of maple syrup but Vermont’s scenery is just as sugary-sweet - bottle-green fields speckled with cows, bright red barns and the covered bridges that are unique to this central New England state. Apple-crisp air, lush landscapes and endless natural thrills make it a year-round adventure playground for families all ages. Snow-clad peaks draw skiers in winter, forests buzz with bikers and hikers in summer, while fall brings the greatest free show on Earth, when the leaves blaze gold, amber and scarlet.
