Perks for the Parents

This luminous family home in the heart of East London is just seconds from the award-winning Victoria Park and is historic and beautifully-designed. The upper floor of a building dating to the 1860s, it has a mixture of vintage and modern design and a family-friendly layout with an open plan kitchen/lounge. Central London is within easy reach, as is Hackney Wick, full of street art, galleries and bars. Columbia Road flower market, Broadway Market, Hoxton and Dalston are just 10 minutes away on the bus.

Why Kids Love it

The apartment has plenty of toys and books for kids under 10 and is a great family space with an open plan kitchen and living room. It’s a 30-second walk to Victoria Park’s playgrounds. A crib, high chair, baby toys and a baby bath can be provided on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week, with weekend stays possible. Not available for short mid-week stays. The residence has stair gates. It is safe to leave a buggy in the shared hallway outside the main door. There are stairs but not enough to be too much with prams. Babysitting/nanny service possible - liaise with host for details.

About the Location

Victoria Park is in East London and is known for the large, award-winning park for which it is named. The residence is just steps away from it. There are play areas, splash areas and a skate park. You can walk all along the canal to another amazing park with an outdoor lido nearby too. The residence is under 30 minutes from central London by public transport (Tube or bus) and the closest airport is London Stansted, a 45-minute drive away, with Gatwick and Heathrow just over an hour away.

Accommodation Details

The apartment is the top floor of an 1860’s building. It has 2 bedrooms (plus a locked attic room), 1 with a queensize bed and the second room can have a queensize bed, 2 singles or a crib. The bathroom has a bath and shower. The living space/ kitchen is open plan and there is a super comfy sofa with huge TV.

Style Notes

Light, bright and tastefully designed with an eclectic mix of old and new. The property dates to 1860. The kitchen is open plan with the living area so you can all be together while cooking. There is an exposed wall which adds to the character, and reclaimed oak flooring throughout. We love the original artwork, the greenery and the pared-back color pallette, which adds to the soothing feel.

We loved our stay at Brookfield Residence, and Josie was beyond helpful before, during and after our stay. Her flat was perfect for my family, and it was so helpful to stay in a place that was childproofed and equipped for a one year old, complete with high chair, toys, books, etc. Everything about our stay was made easy because Josie was with us every step of the way, with suggestions for things to do with a child in the area, where the local grocery stores are, where the best pubs/restaurants are and she even had purchased a pack of diapers and wipes for me before we arrived - she truly went above and beyond! The best part about Brookfield Residence is its location. Just minutes from Victoria Park, a place we frequented every day. My one year old was particularly fond of the splash park. It's also a very short walk from all of the cute restaurants and pubs in Victoria Park Village. And with several bus stops nearby, it was easy to get to the Tube or Overground and head into Central London to do more sightseeing. Our family fell in love with the neighborhood of Hackney, and can't recommend this flat enough!

We had a great experience staying at Brookfield residence. Josie the host was very helpful with us planning our trip. We stayed there with our two children. There is a great kids bedroom and flat is fully kitted out for everything you need with children. The location is perfect as it is right next to Victoria Park which is ideal for children. We are hoping to stay again next year.

South Hackney’s finest child-friendly neighborhood, Victoria Park is set around the award-winning park of the same name. Splash in the water play area, swing from monkey bars or scoot down the canal path to discover more parks and a lido.
