This striking 19th century apartment sleeping 4 + 1 in Prague is packed with design details, antiques and interesting features. From the high ceilings to the parquet floor, everything is thought out and creates a feeling of luxury and grandeur. Owned by an interior designer and interiors photographer, it’s 10 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and offers an elegant take on life in the city with kids. We love the thoughtful touches that raise it above a rental flat: the honesty bar with full wine list, the massage and beauty treatments on request, and the maid service. It’s a sumptuous pad and well placed for exploring the best of romantic, historic Prague.

What we love

  • This pad has historic appeal, with high ceilings, chandeliers, antiques, parquet flooring and stucco cornicing
  • It’s well equipped for self catering, with a separate dining room/kitchen kitted out with modern fittings and a Nespresso machine
  • There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, which can alternatively be arranged as a superkingsize bed
  • The lounge is cozy and comfortable, ideal after a day pounding the cobbles in Prague as a sightseer
  • There’s also a small office area and WiFi throughout
  • The glamorous bathroom is monochrome with a double ended bath, shower and L’Occitane products
  • There’s even an honesty bar, with a good wine collection, all charged on departure
  • Vinohrady is one of Prague’s most beautiful and bohemian districts

James and Joanna are Irish and are based in the Kildare country side at Burtown House and Gardens, a historic early 18th Century Georgian villa, with beautiful gardens, sculpture park and gallery cafe all of which is open to the public. James is a photographer specialising in interiors and Joanna a designer and cook. They have set No 46 up as a place to escape to in arguably one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. No 46 is a place to seek refuge from their busy lives where there is an abundance of stunning street scapes, tree lined boulevards, fantastic restaurants and bars, stunning galleries and many large parks and playgrounds. They often spend their time in the Vinohrady district which is suitably secluded from busy downtown.

No shelf for bath/shower toiletries. Shampoo, soap on floor and as an elder (69 yrs) with leg injuries, it was hard having to bend all the time. Overhead light in one of the bed rooms flickered constantly. No AC and windows left open for breeze resulting in insects and flies.

It was an excellent time we had in Prague and the stay at N46 was superb. The place is really convenient to visit the city with an excellent underground connection but also within a decent walking distance. The setup of the place is excellent too, really nice but also very comfortable. We enjoyed it very much.

Our stay at N 46 was great. The two bedroom made it comfortable for us and our toddler. Plenty of space for her to run around and play when we weren't out sightseeing. Lots of great parks around! James was responsive with our questions even though he doesn't live in Prague his team set up everything from transportation to and from the airport to welcoming us at the apartment. Basics were left in the apartment as well (a few toiletries, olive oil, teas, coffee, etc) which was really nice.

Vinohrady, Prague

Elegant, stylish and colorful

One of Prague’s most elegant residential neighborhoods, Vinohrady is just outside the old town and is stylish and colorful. Parks, restaurants and lively squares make it an interesting place to be, and with easy transport links to the centre on the metro and subway, it’s easy to hit the main sights from the area too.
