Style Notes

Modern family. This light and airy home is laid out with an open floor plan downstairs and is decorated with tasteful artwork from world travels. Hardwood floors complement the antique bookcases and mirrors, and classic decorations for children's toys and rooms add a dash of fun. On a practical note, the children's rooms have kid-friendly decorations and light-blocking shutters to ensure restful sleep. We love the sunny front porch, the cozy master bedroom with a pretty wall hanging, and the spacious, well-equipped kitchen.

Washington DC, United States

The Smithsonian and beyond

Space rockets, giant pandas and spy disguises are just a handful of the things you can discover with the kids in DC. From the National Air and Space Museum to the Natural History museum, the International Spy Museum and the National Building Museum, there is no shortage of culture and history here, and most of these spots are both free and interactive, allowing tots to get fully involved. Don’t miss the National Mall (ideal by bike), and the city’s events - from the National Cherry Blossom Festival to Cinco de Mayo, there’s at least one blockbuster event per month bringing the city to life.
