Family-friendly with classic style. This row-house dates from 1907 and boasts high ceilings, chandeliers, wood floors and gorgeous period fireplaces. And yet, this is a family home and is fully adapted to a vibrant family life with 2 small children. A spacious granite kitchen with a Viking gas stove and 2 sinks is open plan to a dining area for easy family meals. The refurbished basement apartment has new carpet and a contemporary bathroom. We love the kids’ room with soft gray cribs and duck egg blue easy chair and the cozy anteroom set up for reading; the book-lined, light-filled living room and the sleek, cheerful family bathroom.

Hi! My wife and I live in Washington DC but we are from Ukraine and the UK respectively. We are looking to explore the world with our twins and give other families an opportunity to enjoy DC and our lovely home. Cheers, Paul.

Washington DC, United States

The Smithsonian and beyond

Space rockets, giant pandas and spy disguises are just a handful of the things you can discover with the kids in DC. From the National Air and Space Museum to the Natural History museum, the International Spy Museum and the National Building Museum, there is no shortage of culture and history here, and most of these spots are both free and interactive, allowing tots to get fully involved. Don’t miss the National Mall (ideal by bike), and the city’s events - from the National Cherry Blossom Festival to Cinco de Mayo, there’s at least one blockbuster event per month bringing the city to life.
