Perks for the Parents

This bright and central loft is in the heart of Chicago, close to many of the city’s great family attractions. Eclectic and colorful, the décor is welcoming and the addition of a large shared roof terrace with skyscraper views makes it a unique and stunning apartment. To make a stay easy, there is a greengrocer directly on the corner with healthy, organic produce and food. The bedroom has a very comfortable daybed that can function as a twin or queen size bed for kids. It also has a crib nook with a curtain for light control. While the bathroom does not have a tub, it has a spacious shower with hand-held showerhead.

Why Kids Love it

While the loft only has 1 bedroom, there is a sleeper sofa in the lounge for up to 2 kids and a nook in the parent’s bedroom for a crib. The loft feels generous in size for kids and adults alike and there is room for private sleeping space while adults have their space to dine or watch movies after kids' bedtime. A crib, daybed, toys and books are in the apartment for guest use. The kitchen has an eat-in table and there is a booster seat available; family meals are fun inside and easy up on the roof deck also, with a gas grill and plenty of seating.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 days. The loft is safe and secure on the 6th floor of a converted warehouse loft building and has an elevator very close to the apartment. There is a half flight of stairs in the lobby but it is manageable (approximately 8 steps) with a stroller. The unit is extremely quiet, as it is on the top floor and is a corner unit with only one party wall on the kitchen side. The loft door has a keyless electronic coded keypad. Children must be supervised on the shared roof deck, which has railings and a flight of steps up to it. Car rental useful but not essential.

About the Location

The loft is in Chicago's West Town neighborhood, a residential neighborhood considered to be one of Chicago's most desirable, with access to coffee shops, parks, top-rated restaurants, nightlife and downtown. It is adjacent to the West Loop and Fulton Market/Randolph St. Ukrainian Village and Bucktown are just to the north and within easy walking distance. Both airports (ORD and MDW) are easily accessible, taking around 30-35 minutes. Public transportation includes the Grand Ave bus, Blue Line train and Divvy bike share stations nearby.

Accommodation Details

This 1200 sq ft, 1-bedroom loft includes a large living room centered around a fireplace with a sofa bed, a separate eat-in kitchen, a work space or long dining table space, a large private bedroom and a deluxe bathroom with shower, walk-in closet and laundry. A daybed can also be made into a children's bed. The shared 8500 sq ft roof deck is easily accessed with 1 flight of stairs directly above unit offering 360-degree unobstructed views, 4 grilling stations and outdoor seating.

Style Notes

Modern and eclectic. This top floor timber loft is an eclectic treat. Along with skyline views from the roof deck, this apartment has an arty and bohemian interior that includes unique art and collections. Antiques, mid-century modern, and industrial touches blend together to create a cozy yet inspiring space. The kitchen features a large-scale original piece created by the owner. We love the art, color and views.

Urban couple with country roots. We travel for work and pleasure and enjoy staying in historic or architecturally inspiring spaces. We're sharing our Chicago and New Orleans homes while we work on our next restoration and design projects! Our homes always have a signature mix of old and new, layered to create a cozy feel that invites quality moments with friends and family. We have a 3 year old son and a 9 month old daughter. Travel with kids may be different, but we believe it should still be inspiring. In our homes, you'll find thoughtful details and amenities that add to your comfort and our list of recommendations so you can experience our cities like a local.

We had a lovely time in Chicago and having N. Noble Street as our home based only enhanced the experience. The view of the Chicago skyline from the windows (and the roof deck!!) was unbelievable!! The flat is spacious and comfortable and clean. It is beautiful decorated. That there was a parking spot available was huge for us! That was so convenient. We were just a 20 minute drive from the museums and Foster Beach (go there!). Although it was very easy to take a cab too, which we did for downtown - it took 15 mins in traffic. We were glad we brought our own toys for our toddler as there were not many toys or kids books in the flat. Although it wasn't a big deal for our family, but the fireplace opens from the living room to the bedroom so sound and light do carry a bit. All in all we had an amazing stay and would definitely look to stay again in future visits! We are already recommending it to friends!
