Perks for the Parents

This fantastic apartment in a superb part of Manhattan is modern and clean and beautifully designed. The apartment is airy, located in a safe doorman building where there are lots of kids and families around. The building also has 2 roof decks for lounging with views of the Hudson River. The kids bedroom has lots of space for sleeping and play and can fit an air mattress or travel crib as well.

Why Kids Love it

The kids room is divine and spacious, with playful artwork and a bunkbed. The neighborhood is great for kids, located near the Hudson River Park and also a lot of local parks. There are a lot of toys to play with and a toddler chair is provided for the dining room area. Should you require baby equipment, please contact as we may be able to provide rental items.

Things to Know

The residence is in a doorman building with 24 hour security and elevator, plus a grocery store in the building. It is safe for children and has window guards. There is laundry room on the floor that requires a laundry card to do the wash. The kitchen has everything you need - dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge. No smoking; no pets.

About the Location

The apartment is close to Soho, Tribeca and Chelsea and the PATH and Subway trains. Local parks include Bleecker Park, Horatio Park, Leroy Park and the water parks on the Hudson River, and the Children’s Museum of Art is close by. Excellent restaurants and shopping nearby. JFK and LaGuardia are under an hour away.

Accommodation Details

Two bedroom, 2 bathroom loft apartment with very large kids bedroom and a large sleeping loft for adults. The apartment features a spacious entryway with lots of storage. Downstairs, there is an open kitchen with dining area that seats 5 and a living room area, and a large kids bedroom with twin bunk beds and bathroom. Upstairs, the adult bed is king size - the bedroom is a sleeping loft with a separate bathroom upstairs.

Style Notes

The apartment is clean and minimalist, mixing modern furnishings with a bit of vintage and pops of color. The apartment gets a lot of light and overlooks a private garden across the street. We love the Oeuf bunk bed, the quirky artwork and the soft furnishings. An Eames rocker with a sheepskin throw, a cooler-than-cool kids play kitchen with pops of orange and the tomato-red high chair also caught our eyes.

I run a brand licensing agency and blog focused on fashion and design, and am a mother of two girls ages 6 and 9. I'm a neat freak (in a good way).

This is an amazing apartment in a perfect location. Julie's kept the place spotlessly clean and the layout is perfect for a small family. Our two kids stayed in the kids room down stairs and we slept up in the loft-style master bedroom. Our kids were obsessed with the dollhouse, dolls and figurines, so there was never a dull moment when we were taking it easy in the apt. The building is super nice with 24 hour doormen, access to the roof which has spectacular views of the city -- even the apartment itself has windows looking out towards midtown so you can see the entire NYC skyline. Lastly, the location is perfect. There's a great grocery store literally 100 feet away, and you're right in the heart of west village, walking distance to so many killer restaurants, Chelsea market, the high-line, subway stops, Whitney Museum, and so much more. Getting up to Central Park is a straight shot from the nearest subway stop. Not much else you can ask for. Highly recommend!

Our family, and our little girl especially, LOVED staying in this beautiful, well appointed, and incredibly located apartment for our week in the city. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you Julie! and thank you girls!

West Village, Manhattan

Everybody's favourite New York City neighborhood

In the heart of Downtown, the West Village is everything you could look for in a family-friendly, well located neighborhood. Cosy, cool and cosmopolitan, the streets are treelined, the restaurants are hip and the main drag along Hudson Street has a good choice of kid-friendly attractions and shops. It's a great base for a family in the city, with easy transport links for getting around.
