Perks for the Parents

A stylish Williamsburg townhouse with lots of space to play and relax, just minutes from local playgrounds. It sleeps 8 + 1. The fully-equipped kitchen and flexible layout is perfect for any family looking for both short or long term accommodation. Choose from 2 living spaces (ideal to escape the kids zone once the toys take over) and there are 2 queensize rooms and 2 bathrooms, if you’re traveling with a nanny or grandparents. This centrally-located apartment is in a great spot too, with Brooklyn’s best on your doorstep or the sights of Manhattan just a short subway ride away.

Why Kids Love it

The home has lots of toys and books for every age and gender. It’s less than 10 minutes’ walk to local playgrounds (McCarren Park or Martinez Playground), and the property is located on a charming tree-lined street close to all the best boutiques, book stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Take thrill-seeking kids to Area53 Adventure Park (20 minutes by subway). Kids of all ages will love a trip on the ferry - catch a boat from North 5th Street Pier (20 minutes’ walk) down to Dumbo for Jane’s carousel.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: there is an open staircase between floors that may not be appropriate for younger children without supervision, although stair gates are available. The hosts can provide a baby bath, baby monitor, children’s utensils and a high chair on request. Free street parking is readily available everywhere in the neighborhood, although car rental is not strictly essential due to the central area. Ask the hosts about local babysitters or housekeeping services for your stay.

About the Location

This townhouse is located in Williamsburg, New York, amidst the best offerings of Brooklyn culture. Whether you’re into fashion, food or entertainment, you’ll be mere steps away from the best coffee, cuisine, bars and shopping. Manhattan (10 minutes on the subway) is home to the city’s iconic museums, sites and landmarks. The nearest subway stations are Lorimer St and Metropolitan Av (both 2 minutes’ walk). JFK and LaGuardia airports are around 1 hour away by subway; Newark is around 1 hour 15 minutes.

Accommodation Details

The apartment has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (1 with a tub, 1 with a shower), set over 2 floors. There’s a spacious dining and living area on each floor, so everyone will have their own space. The primary bedroom features a queensize bed, while the children’s room boasts a set of bunk beds and lots of toys and books. The third bedroom also has a queensize bed and there’s a washer/dryer on both floors. The hosts also have 1 travel crib and 2 single sofabeds available. Outside, there is an air hockey table and an outdoor table tennis in the backyard, as well as huge outdoor spaces for entertaining, rest and play, with various outdoor tables and chairs.

Style Notes

Industrial chic. This newly renovated townhouse has spectacular 10-foot ceilings, offering full exposure to natural daylight all day long. The space is filled with carefully-curated antique and vintage pieces, creating the perfect balance between rawness and luxury. The interiors feel most befitting to a discerning traveler who has a sophisticated sense of style, taste and palate. We love the striking concrete staircase, the exposed brick wall and the unique wooden ceiling on the top floor.

We love to cook, read, travel and play together as a family. We have the most fun when we are hosting and entertaining family and friends in our homes in Brooklyn and the Hamptons. We hope you find as much joy in our Hamptons home as we do. It’s been our happy place....

This place is such a cool property with great styled elements. It was perfect for our toddlers, too--lots of toys to play with but also equipped with easy to operate built-in gates upstairs. Jesse, the homeowner, was lovely and caring to communicate with. Would absolutely recommend!

Our stay at the Ainslie was perfect. The house is huge, super clean, and has modern and/or brand new appliances. There was everything we needed for the kids, they had so much fun with all the toys! Jesse was super responsive and accommodating (e.g. late checkout, high chair). Strongly recommend!

Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The hippest tots in the hood

Williamsburg, aka ‘Babyburg’, is a hip family hangout. Swing down to the waterfront to watch the boats then hit the Smorgasburg street food market at snacktime. Grass is rolled out on Bedford Ave at the weekend for impromptu picnics, and the neighborhood is packed with street-art inspired play spaces, playgrounds and an array of hip kids boutiques.
