This cozy, compact cottage in Woodstock is child-friendly and sleeps a family of 3-4. Inside, it has an open floor plan with a kitchen, lounge and bedroom on the same floor. Walking distance from the village and its charming, arty attractions, it’s a great spot for a break from the city. Out front, there’s a babbling brook surrounded by trees, while out back there is an forest for afternoon hikes. You can also walk to the Comeau Preserve, with 77 acres of public land where you can play, picnic and exercise the dog. We love the scenic location, the shared outdoor space with fire pit and dining area, and the views. For larger groups, it can be booked with the Tinker Street Farmhouse to sleep up to nine.

I am a mom to two fierce kids and married to my best friend for over 20 years. When I am not chasing after the two spirited kiddos or working, I love having a glass of vino (or two) with my partner in crime and friends and having a good chit chat. Yoga also provides some balance.

Woodstock, Hudson Valley

Green, organic and free range

Head to the Catskills and Woodstock for an eco-friendly retreat: wooded hillsides, hiking trails, lakes, rivers and plenty of space to run, yell and play. Artists, writers and musicians have made this rural spot a colony for the arts - and there’s great home-baked food here too.
