The local area has plenty of parks within walking distance as well trendy cafes, shops and restaurants - many of which offer takeaway options for those who prefer to dine in. There’s plenty to keep families entertained without even setting foot outside with toys, games and space for kids to play. The cosmopolitan garden has a lawned area alongside alfresco dining and a gorgeous natural swimming pond with sun loungers. Inside, parents have plenty of space to call their own, with 2 sitting rooms, 2 ensuite kingsize bedrooms and a roomy freestanding bathtub for ultra decadent bathing.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will forget they’re even in the city at this fun-filled residence, designed with families in mind. The 2 kids bedrooms are colorful and playfully decorated with fun wall art and plenty of toys, books and craft activities for kids under 10. The downstairs living spaces are made for socialising with large open plan spaces and a separate cozy living/TV room for laid back movie nights in. Not many London residences can claim to have their own swim pond but kids are treated to one here – perfect for splashing about in during the warm summer months. The residence has plenty of kid-friendly cafes and restaurants on the doorsteps as well as some of London’s best parks and museums including the Discover Children’s Story Centre and the Olympic Park. The hosts can provide a crib, highchair, baby monitor, baby bath and stairgates on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. There is good Wi-Fi throughout. Please note that the swimming pond itself is unfenced, but there is a gate between the kitchen terrace and rest of the garden area. The pond is reed filtered so the hosts kindly request that guests do not put suncream or anything other than themselves in it. Guests are responsible for their group's safety around the pond. Guests have access to all spaces except for a private room for the host’s personal items, the basement and the garden studio. Parking is available on the drive, and there is usually space on the street outside too; the hosts can provide permits. The hosts have a travel crib and stairgates, which they can provide upon request.

Style Notes

East London Edge. A design centric home with plenty of playful style, beautifully adorned throughout with handpicked art works and objects collected by the hosts over the years. Living spaces have been thoughtfully crafted with kids and adults in mind to create fun hang out nooks and sociable areas which are a joy to gather in. The Victorian building has been artfully reimagined to incorporate plenty of natural, ethically made, and re-used materials - the kitchen and bathroom have been chicly upcycled. We love the natural swimming pond and landscaped garden offering a nature-filled haven where you can enjoy a moment of complete peace away from the city buzz.

Forest Gate, London

An East London delight

One of East London’s most up-and-coming areas, Forest Gate is under 15 minutes from Liverpool Street station in the heart of the city and yet is leafy and green with a strong sense of community. Play football on Wanstead Flats, buy your groceries at the Saturday food market or discover the Olympic Park in Stratford, the city's newest park, which is only a short train ride away.
