Style Notes

Classic and sophisticated. This architect-designed house has been lovingly curated over the years by the host family. It has a sophisticated mix of modern and traditional architecture with every conceivable convenience included: a clear mix of old and new with charming wooden ceilings and traditional stone floors. All of the furniture found in this beautiful home are either created by local woodworkers and artisans, or are extraordinary antique pieces. It has a clean, modern aesthetic but still provides warmth and a homely ambiance. From the olive tree-filled garden, there is nothing better than watching the sunset over the Gran Sasso mountains. We love the bright all-white kitchen, the contemporary fireplace in the dining room and the understated linen textiles.

Abruzzo, Italy

Italy's rocky heart

Halfway down Italy's boot on the eastern coast, this region is known for its Adriatic Sea beaches, mountains, historic towns and wild and mountainous terrain. Take your pick from rambling in national parks alongside astonishing scenery to playing in the sunshine on sandy beaches, roaming ruined castles and dining at pretty, rustic trattoria.
