This Portland residence sleeps up to 10 and suits families who want a bit of room to spread out. The two-story unit can be rented on its own or with the downstairs unit if additional space is needed. The abode’s design reflects the independent spirit that helps define Portland. Inspirational words painted on the front steps greet visitors and there’s a blackboard wall in the loft area for the kids to add their own sentiments. The master bedroom, tucked away on the top floor, offers extra privacy. Located on Alberta Street, it’s in one of the city’s hippest hoods. After fueling up at a nearby cafe, set off for the Portland Children’s Museum or the Columbia River Gorge. There is plenty for kids, including a Bugaboo Bee for younger guests.

This home is even more fabulous than the photos suggest. A really special space on a very fun block of Alberta. The space: Comfy beds, kitchen well stocked and showers wonderful. All very clean. The side yard has a small trike and fort, as well as a table for outdoor dining. Kid-friendly Stuff: Baskets of toys and books for kids! Just enough to entertain but not enough for them to make too big of a mess. High chair and pack and play made it easy with our 1-year-old, although it would have been nice to have a baby gate for the stairs. The lower rental doesn't have stairs though, so if you have a very little one try to rent that. The Location: We were new to Portland and appreciated the proximity to many cool businesses and Alberta park just a short walk away. Highly recommend the Tin Shed across the street for breakfast. They are open early and very kid-friendly. Also Sip juice bar just down Alberta has amazing organic juices and smoothies. Green Bean Books kid's bookstore is also close by. It's nice to be right on Alberta as a tourist--you're right in the action but it's not noisy at night. Will be renting here again!
