Style Notes

Modern Moorish. This Moorish-style property with private rooftop pool is a beautiful old fisherman's house restored to its former glory. With whitewashed walls, shutters, a unique wooden bannister and flagstone floors, it is uncluttered and uses modern clean lines to great effect. We love the black Eames-style chairs and the sunny rooftop deck and pool.

Our favorite traveling destination is Portugal

Algarve, Portugal

Beaches, golf and sunshine

If you like golf, sunshine and beaches, you’ll love the Algarve. Portugal’s sunny spot gets 3,000 hours of sunny blue skies every year and entertains far more sun seekers than that on its highly accessible sandy beaches. For an easy beach break from just about everywhere in Europe, look no further. Beyond the beach, kids love the water slides at Aqualand, boat trips and meeting the monkeys at Zoo de Lagos.

This is a gem of a home. Lovely attention to detail. And although we never met the host everything we needed was there. And easy to use. (It is too cold to swim in the pool if the weather is cold.)
