Style Notes

Urban coziness. Recently renovated, this light and bright period apartment combines historic features and vintage finds with plenty of contemporary comfort to create a truly inviting home space. White wood floors and large windows instil an airy vibe throughout with modern and family-produced art works adding playfulness and character. The bold kitchen floor tiles and contemporary lighting continue the modern vibes, uplifted by handpicked period pieces and family-owned treasures such as the dining room table. We love the leafy location and the bonus garden space with its alfresco dining area and trampoline, the perfect spot for a leisurely morning coffee or family dinner.

We are a family of 4, living in Amsterdam. Our son is 11 and our daughter is 9. We love living here. Our street feels like a little village but we are around the corner of everything Amsterdam has to offer. Michiel is a consultant and I (Yvonne) am a Children and youth psychologist.

Amstelveen, Amsterdam

On the edge of the city

This small town, 30 minutes south from Amsterdam’s Centraal Station by tram, is a peaceful place to stay as a family. Amstelveen has playgrounds, local parks for rambling, picnicking and soccer, and a handful of modern art museums. Be sure to check out the Clara Maria Cheese and Clog farm and the local sheep and goat farm in the middle of the Amsterdamse Bos park, ideal with young children.
